Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Christian McCaffrey (thigh) expected to play Week 4 vs. Cardinals

Panthers’ RB Christian McCaffrey, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a thigh injury, is likely to play vs. the Cardinals, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: McCaffrey was a late addition to the injury report this week but is reportedly good to go against the Cardinals in Week 4. He has just 57 receiving yards through three games but has topped 100 yards rushing in each of the last two weeks.

D.J. Chark (ankle) will not suit up against the Seahawks

D.J. Chark, who has been dealing with an ankle injury throughout the week, has officially been ruled out ahead of Sunday’s game against Seattle. (Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Chark was in line for a bigger role with Amon-Ra St. Brown already ruled out for Sunday as well. Now Jared Goff will likely turn to Josh Reynolds as the defacto WR1 for the Lions. D’Andre Swift is also out Sunday, and Jamaal Williams could now see a massive workload with all the injuries the Lions are dealing with on offense. T.J Hockenson should see an increased role as well.

Jameis Winston will not play Sunday against the Vikings

Jameis Winston, who was considered doubtful to play Sunday, has officially been downgraded to out. Andy Dalton will serve as the Saints QB1, per Adam Schefter. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Winston has been dealing with a back injury that will now force him to miss his first game of the 2022 season. With Michael Thomas already ruled out, the shorthanded Saints will turn to long-time veteran Andy Dalton to lead their offense. Dalton is a veteran who is capable of leading an offense when called upon and should be considered an emergency streaming option at the position. With Winston and Thomas out, perhaps more touches will fall to rookie Chris Olave, as well as the Saints runningbacks.

Dalton Schultz (knee) expected to play Week 4 vs. Commanders

Dalton Schultz is expected to play in the Cowboys’ Week 4 matchup against the Commanders despite officially carrying a questionable tag according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Dalton Schultz appears on track to play on Sunday despite only logging three limited practices this week. When healthy, Schultz is an easy TE1 and an arguable Top 5 tight end, so if he’s active, you have to play him in season-long leagues. Depending on the matchup slate, he makes for an interesting DFS play even after missing the Week 3 game against the Giants. Schultz has caught 9-of-13 targets for 80 yards and no touchdowns so far this season and Washington just gave up 70 yards and a score on five receptions to tight ends in Week 3.
