Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Ezekiel Elliott officially doubtful for Week 8
According to Chris Emma of 670 The Score, RB Ezekiel Elliott is listed as doubtful for Sunday for the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy Impact
Elliott has been out of practice and trending in the direction of missing Week 8, and now he is unlikely to play. Elliott has often played through injury, so it’s not impossible he plays, but most likely he will take some time off to heal. In the meantime, RB Tony Pollard becomes an intriguing start against the Chicago Bears.
DK Metcalf listed as questionable for Week 8
DK Metcalf is officially listed as questionable for Week 8 against the Giants.
Fantasy Impact
Metcalf is dealing with a patellar tendon injury and has not logged practice time so far this week. Considering it is unlikely that Metcalf suits up this week, fantasy managers should expect Marquise Goodwin and Dee Eskridge to see additional targets in his absence.
Ja’Marr Chase (hip) not expected to go on IR
Ja’Marr Chase (hip) is not expected to be placed on IR and reportedly has a torn labrum and a hairline fracture in his hip.
Fantasy Impact
Chase is dealing with some pretty serious injuries at the moment, having suffered a torn labrum and a hairline fracture in his hip. The team initially put a timeline of 4-6 weeks for his return, and that timetable is reinforced by the fact that they won’t place him on IR. Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd will both see extra targets while the young stud is out for an extended period of time.
Brandin Cooks (wrist) listed as questionable for Week 8
Brandin Cooks has been listed as questionable ahead of Sunday’s game against the Titans.
Fantasy Impact
Cooks practiced all week before being a late add to the injury report. It is interesting timing with the trade deadline on Tuesday. Cooks is in a good position this week if he does play with Nico Collins sidelined, but he has been very disappointing all season.
