Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Alvin Kamara (ribs) is expected to play in Week 5 against Seattle

Alvin Kamara is expected to start for the Saints in Week 5 after missing the team’s Week 4 loss while dealing with a rib injury. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Kamara has had trouble gaining momentum to start the season, but hopefully, he can get going against a very poor Seattle run defense. With Jameis Winston not slated to start Andy Dalton could be more willing to check it down to the excellent receiving back than Winston has shown so far. Kamara should be locked into starting lineups as a surefire RB1 in Week 5.

Tyreek Hill (quad) is expected to play in Week 5

Tyreek Hill, who popped up on the injury report this week, should play Sunday barring any setbacks pregame, according to Adam Schefter. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Hill leads the NFL in receiving yards through four weeks, and will now get a shot against the Jets in Week 5 to continue his hot start. The Jets have had solid secondary play to start the season, but Hill is a must-start WR1 whenever he is healthy. Jaylen Waddle is also expected to play in Week 5 so Hill will have his running mate with him on the field as they look to develop chemistry with backup QB Teddy Bridgewater.

David Montgomery (ankle) will play in Week 5 against Minnesota

David Montgomery will play in Week 5 after missing Week 4 with an ankle injury, per Jordan Schultz. (Source: Jordan Schultz on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Montgomery had been nursing an ankle injury that he suffered early in Week 3 but is slated to return to the Bears lineup against the Vikings on Sunday. The 25-year-old back had a strong Week 2 performance, and since his injury, Khalil Herbert has performed admirably in relief of Montgomery. With Herbert’s strong outings as of late, and Montgomery just getting back from his injury, there is a chance it could be more of a timeshare on Sunday. Still, Montgomery should be the lead-back against a suspect Minnesota rushing defense. Consider the fourth-year back a risky flex play in Week 5.

Russell Wilson receives injection to relieve discomfort in shoulder

Russell Wilson flew to Los Angeles Friday to receive an injection to relieve discomfort near his throwing shoulder, per Tom Pelissero. (Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact: The procedure is similar to one that sidelined Dak Prescott during Cowboys’ training camp in 2021. Wilson apparently has been dealing with a strained latissimus dorsi, but plans to continue playing when the Broncos return to action against the Chargers in Week 6.
