DK Metcalf is officially listed as questionable for Week 8 against the Giants.

Fantasy Impact

Metcalf is dealing with a patellar tendon injury and has not logged practice time so far this week. Considering it is unlikely that Metcalf suits up this week, fantasy managers should expect Marquise Goodwin and Dee Eskridge to see additional targets in his absence.

Last-Minute Waiver Wire Replacements to Target

Wan’Dale Robinson (WR – NYG) vs. Seattle Seahawks (31.4% Rostered)

Robinson is an excellent last-minute replacement for Week 8. However, he is also the perfect beat the waiver wire candidate. Honestly, the rookie receiver shouldn’t be available in 68.6% of ESPN leagues. Robinson is the unquestioned No. 1 wide receiver in New York after the Giants traded Kadarius Toney to the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday. Furthermore, the rookie leads the team in receptions (nine), targets (12), receiving yards (87), and half-point PPR fantasy points (19.2) since returning from a knee injury. Moreover, Robinson has been the WR28 over the past two weeks.

Not only is the former Kentucky star Daniel Jones‘ new favorite target, but Robinson has a solid matchup this week against the Seahawks. Seattle has held wide receivers to 23.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game this season, slightly below the league average. However, they have struggled against slot receivers. According to PFF, Robinson lines up in the slot 77% of the time. Meanwhile, Seattle’s slot cornerback, Coby Bryant, has allowed 66% of the passes thrown his way to be completed this season. After leading the team in targets last week, Robinson could have the first double-digit target game in his career on Sunday.

Chris Moore (WR – HOU) vs. Tennessee Titans (0.2% Rostered)

The thought of starting a Houston wide receiver isn’t ideal, especially when that player is someone other than Brandin Cooks. However, Moore is a deep sleeper this week. The Texans won’t have second-year man Nico Collins this week, as he is expected to miss the game with a groin injury. Furthermore, Cooks is questionable to play with a wrist injury. While the veteran is likely to play, there are rumors Cooks could get traded before kickoff and sit out the game. Whether Cooks plays or not, Moore is the next man up and will see a larger workload with Collins out.

Moore has the third-most targets on the team this year among wide receivers (16). He has also played at least 53% of the snaps each game since Week 2 that he has been active. Meanwhile, the Titans have surrendered 36.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season, the third-most in the NFL. They have also given up nine receiving touchdowns to the position, the third-most in the league. Moore won’t give fantasy players top-20 performance this week. However, he does have flex appeal, given the situation and matchup.
