D’Andre Swift Injury Outlook

D’Andre Swift questionable for Week 7

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, RB D’Andre Swift is officially questionable for Week 7 against Dallas.

Fantasy Impact

Dallas’ defense has been one of the strongest all season, though they struggled to contain Philadelphia’s ground game. If Swift is healthy, he will likely see heavy usage if the Lions hope to keep up with QB Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys. He missed Week 5 and has a bye in Week 6, so after being limited in practice, it seems that he may be on pace to return.

Waiver Wire Replacements to Target

Kenyan Drake (RB – BAL) vs. Cleveland Browns (19.1% Rostered)

At the time of writing, Drake is rostered in only 19.1% of ESPN leagues. However, that number should double before kickoff on Sunday. Starter J.K. Dobbins will have an arthroscopic knee procedure next week and miss the next 4-6 weeks. Meanwhile, Drake played 58% of the snaps last week as Dobbins left the game early because of tightness in his surgically repaired knee. The veteran running back averaged 11.9 yards per rushing attempt and scored 19.2 half-point PPR fantasy points last week against the New York Giants. Drake is coming off his best performance of the year and has a great matchup this week.

The Browns started the season as one of the toughest teams on running backs. Over the first three weeks of the year, they held running backs to only 66.7 rushing yards and 16.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, things have fallen apart lately. Cleveland has surrendered 170 rushing yards and 36 fantasy points per game to running backs over the past three weeks, giving up two rushing touchdowns in every matchup. Furthermore, they have given up 195 or more rushing yards twice during that span. Even if Gus Edwards makes his season debut this week, Drake should lead the Baltimore rushing attack in Week 7.

Sony Michel (RB – LAC) vs. Seattle Seahawks (4.1% Rostered)

Finding last-minute waiver wire running backs is no easy task, especially with four teams on a bye. However, Michel is a solid dart throw option in deeper leagues. The veteran running back is third on the depth chart behind Austin Ekeler and Joshua Kelley. Unfortunately, Kelley suffered a knee injury on Monday against the Denver Broncos and played only two snaps. Filling in for the third-year running back, Michel played a season-high 32% of the snaps and had 11 touches in the game. While he only scored 5.7 half-point PPR fantasy points, the veteran running back saw the ball on 36.7% of his snap.

With Kelley out this week because of the knee injury, Michel will take over as Ekeler’s primary backup. While Isaiah Spiller will make his career debut, the rookie is unlikely to play much of a role on offense. More importantly, the Seahawks have been awful at stopping the run this season. Seattle has surrendered 116.3 rushing yards and 23.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game to running backs, giving up over 100 rushing yards in all but one game. Furthermore, the Chargers won’t have Joshua Palmer, Donald Parham, and potentially Keenan Allen for this game. Therefore, expect a run-heavy game plan from Los Angeles.
