With DeAndre Hopkins suspended and Rondale Moore officially ruled out for Week 1, Zach Ertz is in line for many targets… if he plays. The 31-year-old tight end is listed as questionable for Arizona’s matchup against Kansas City due to concerns about a lingering calf injury that he’s been dealing with since early August. Let’s take a look at the latest on Ertz.

Zach Ertz is listed as “questionable” for Week 1
Zach Ertz has been listed as questionable ahead of Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.
Fantasy Impact
Ertz was limited at practice Wednesday and Friday while missing Thursday’s practice. Coach Kliff Kingsbury said he “hopes” to have Ertz on the field, but it is possible he might not play the whole game if he does play. There should hopefully be another report on Saturday providing a further update on Ertz for Sunday, but fantasy managers of Ertz should be cautious.

What the Experts are Saying
Zach Ertz could easily miss this game as he’s dealing with a calf injury. Last season without Hopkins in the lineup (Weeks 9-11, 15-18), Ertz saw a 23.7% target share and finished as a top ten tight end in 71.4% of his games. After being left for dead during last year’s draft season, Ertz showed plenty left in the tank, ranking ninth in yards per route run and fantasy points per route run.
