Alvin Kamara listed as questionable for Sunday

According to Rod Walker of The Times-Picayune, the New Orleans Saints have listed RB Alvin Kamara as questionable for Week 3.

Fantasy Impact

Kamara was a limited participant in practice all week after missing Week 2’s game against the Buccaneers. In Kamara’s absence, RB Mark Ingram II got the start and likely would again if Kamara misses. But if Kamara plays, he’s an automatic start versus a Carolina Panthers defense that has allowed 140-plus yards to RB Nick Chubb and 70-plus yards to RB Saquon Barkley.

What the Experts are Saying

Kamara missed last week with a rib injury, if he can handle a full load, he will be ranked higher by the end of the week. For now, he is a flex option against a Panthers D that is 24th against fantasy backs.

Alvin Kamara totaled just 12 touches for 42 yards in Week 1, while backfield teammate Mark Ingram had 5 for 27. Kamara’s egregiously large workload would come down after last season, and that’s exactly how we saw things play out. Recall, AK41 averaged 15 touches per game when in use in tandem with a healthy Mark Ingram last season. He got 24.2 touches without Ingram. If that doesn’t change, Kamara’s production won’t meet that of fantasy RB1. Not to mention, he’s dealing with this rib cartilage injury that kept him completely out of Week 2 and could further limit his touches in future weeks.
