He continues to work his way back from the torn ACL and was tagged as questionable for Week 1 on the injury report. Will Dobbins play in Week 1? J.K. Dobbins (knee) reportedly unlikely to play against Jets
According to Dianna Russini, J.K. Dobbins, who is listed as questionable for Week 1 with a knee injury, is expected to be a game-time decision and “it’s unlikely he plays but he’s going to try.”
Fantasy Impact
Fantasy Impact: There has been a ton of doubt cast on Dobbins’ availability for Week 1, particularly given the matchup with a weak Jets team where the Ravens shouldn’t feel the need to pull out all the stops. If Dobbins is unable to suit up as expected, the backfield work will likely be split between Mike Davis and Kenyan Drake, with neither being a particularly appetizing fantasy option despite the matchup. Hopefully, Dobbins feels better than expected in warmups but, for now, plan on him missing the Week 1 matchup.

Dobbins is officially questionable but still limited in practice. It would be surprising to see him play in any meaningful quantity prior to Week 3. By midseason, the SportsMedAnalytics (SMA) database projects him re-gaining 85% of his peak form, but if we see him play in September, expect limited snap counts and explosiveness.

With J.K. Dobbins’ health and workload up in the air, it isn’t easy to trust any of these rushers in your Week 1 lineup. Only three times last year did a Ravens’ running back garner more than 50% of the backfield rushing share in a game, so starting any of these backs with conviction is a fool’s errand. You’re whispering lies to yourself that are difficult to believe.
