Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Mac Jones expected to play against Steelers

According to Field Yates of ESPN, QB Mac Jones (back/illness) is off the injury report and expected to start Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. (Source: Field Yates on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Jones’ performance in Week 1 wasn’t ideal, but his absence would have been worse for the New England Patriots. Jones was a scare to be out for Week 2, so he provides better floors for the Patriots’ weapons like RBs Rhamondre Stevenson and Damien Harris, but he’s likely no more than a QB2 option on the road in a tough environment.

Tee Higgins deemed questionable versus Cowboys

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, WR Tee Higgins (concussion) is officially listed as questionable for the Cincinnati Bengals’ Sunday game versus the Dallas Cowboys. (Source: Field Yates on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The Bengals have a fortunate road matchup versus a now-undermanned Cowboys team missing QB Dak Prescott. With a potential lopsided game at hand, the Bengals’ passing attack could be cast aside, but should he play, Higgins could still have a chance to smash with a favorable CB2 matchup. If he misses WR Tyler Boyd becomes the next man up, a very capable WR on his own.

Leonard Fournette (hamstring) working with the trainer during practice

Leonard Fournette (hamstring) was working with the trainer on the side during Bucs’ practice Friday. (Source: Rick Stroud on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact: Fournette has been limited in back-to-back days and is working with the trainer Friday. Hamstring injuries are tough to judge since the severity can vary and they can linger if not handled properly. Fantasy managers should expect Rachaad White and Gio Bernard to see additional work on the ground if Fournette is ruled out for Week 2.

D’Andre Swift (ankle) listed questionable for Week 2

D’Andre Swift has been listed as questionable for Sunday against the Commanders.

Fantasy Impact: Swift returned to practice on Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday’s practices. It sounds like he should be good to go after a huge Week 1 performance against the Eagles.
