Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Dalvin Cook ‘day-to-day’ with shoulder injury
Dalvin Cook suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday’s win over the Lions, but HC Kevin O’Connell has said that Cook is considered “day-to-day.” (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Cook finally had a nice day on the ground in Week 3, but a shoulder injury cut his day short. Cook dealt with a shoulder injury last season that forced him to miss a game, but when he came back he was as good as ever. While it seems like Cook may not miss time with this injury, it is worth monitoring his status throughout the week. If Cook does miss time, Alexander Mattison will be the beneficiary of a large role as the Viking’s lead back.
Dak Prescott eyeing potential Week 5 return
The Cowboys-Rams contest in Week 5 is a game Dak Prescott “could possibly start,” according to Jane Slater of NFL Network. (Source: Jane Slater on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Slater said Prescott showed her his thumb post stitch removal and there was no swelling. She got the sense he would go Sunday vs. Washington if he could but this will be a team and Prescott decision to be smart. Cooper Rush in the meantime has led the Cowboys to back-to-back wins over the Bengals and Giants.
Mac Jones (high ankle sprain) to miss multiple games, surgery an option
Mac Jones has a severe high ankle sprain that would cause many to have surgery, according to a report from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. He is likely to miss multiple games, and Jones and the Patriots are discussing his options. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: With Jones out for the foreseeable future, veteran QB Brian Hoyer is expected to step in and start for the Patriots. Bailey Zappe moves up to the top backup spot and could see action sooner rather than later if Hoyer struggles.
Keenan Allen (hamstring) expected to return to practice this week
Brandon Staley said Keenan Allen is expected to return to practice this week. (Source: Daniel Popper on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Allen has missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury. It sounds like he has a chance to return this upcoming week against the Texans barring any setbacks in practice.
