Fantasy Football Injury Updates

J.K. Dobbins listed as questionable for Week 2

Despite logging full practices all week, RB J.K. Dobbins is listed as questionable for Week 2 versus the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN’s Field Yates. (Source: Field Yates on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: If Dobbins plays, he is an instant plug-and-play RB2 option against the Dolphins due to Baltimore’s commitment to the run, even if the Dolphins played strongly against the New England Patriots run game. If he does not play, though, downgrade the Ravens’ run game as a whole. RBs Mike Davis and Kenyan Drake will get the RB work, but QB Lamar Jackson will likely take most of the ground work.

Chris Godwin officially out versus Saints

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Tampa Bay WR Chris Godwin is officially out versus the New Orleans Saints for Week 2. (Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Godwin was absent for much of the latter half of the Buccaneers game against the Cowboys in Week 1, but he looked solid before leaving. His absence bumps up WR Mike Evans who is a dominant force in the red zone, but it also gives WR Julio Jones more room to make an impact. Jones looked solid against the Cowboys, and with Brady and Evans’ noted struggles against the Saints in recent years, he could be more productive than expected.

Michael Pittman Jr. (quad) questionable for Sunday’s game

Fantasy Impact: Pittman was limited in practice Wednesday and missed practice Thursday. If Pittman is forced to miss Week 2, Parris Campbell and Ashton Dulin should see additional targets against Jacksonville. With Alec Pierce ruled out with a concussion, the Colts will likely rely on Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines to move the ball Sunday.

Alvin Kamara (ribs) questionable for Week 2

Alvin Kamara (ribs) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Falcons. After being limited on Wednesday, he did not practice at all on Thursday or Friday. (Source: Jenna Laine on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: There appears to be a very real chance that Kamara sits out Sunday’s game. In such a scenario, Mark Ingram (ankle) would draw the start and carry RB3 value in fantasy football. Fantasy managers should check back on Sunday morning for confirmation on Kamara’s status.
