Fantasy Football Injury Updates

Jaylen Waddle (undisclosed) in third week out of practice

According to Adam Beasley of Pro Football Network, WR Jaylen Waddle is missing his third week of practices with an undisclosed injury. The belief is it’s a lower-body soft-tissue injury. (Source: Adam Beasley on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The Miami Dolphins had an electric rookie year from Waddle, who caught 104 passes for 1,015 yards and six touchdowns. The Dolphins brought in Hill to capitalize on a new-look passing attack captained by new head coach Mike McDaniel and third-year QB Tua Tagovailoa. Waddle is going on average as the PPR WR17, according to FantasyPros, and his status for Week 1 is uncertain at this time, though he has until Sunday, Sep. 11.

J.K. Dobbins: Week 1 status “certainly in doubt”

J.K. Dobbins Week 1 status is “certainly in doubt” per Ian Rapoport. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This is not really a surprise considering the move earlier in the day to sign Kenyan Drake. Dobbins is coming off a season-ending ACL injury last year and it has been rumored over the last few weeks that he was not a lock to be ready by Week 1. He is currently the RB22 in ECR, according to FantasyPros.

Brian Robinson Jr. makes Washington’s 53-man roster

The Washington Commanders announced that RB Brian Robinson Jr. has made their 53-man roster after he was shot twice in an armed robbery attempt on Sunday. (Source: Mike Garafolo)

Fantasy Impact: The team still remains optimistic that Robinson will be available to play this season despite this unfortunate situation, made evident by their move of placing him on the 53-man roster. However, the rookie that was gaining steam throughout the preseason as the likely starter will probably need at least a few weeks to heal and get back into the football mindset. Expect Antonio Gibson to be listed as the starter going into Week 1, but there is a chance Robinson is able to step into that role when he is ready to return.

Darrell Henderson returns to practice

Darrell Henderson returned to practice Monday and was a full participant in practice, according to head coach Sean McVay. (Source: Jourdan Rodrigue on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact: Henderson, like Cam Akers, was held out of practice for the last two weeks with a soft tissue injury. Henderson tallied 688 yards and eight rushing touchdowns on 149 carries in 2021. The 25-year-old is currently ranked as RB42 in ECR, according to FantasyPros.
