Kamu Grugier-Hill (LB- HOU)
Last season, Kamu Grugier-Hill finished 24th in IDP scoring and top 10 in IDP fantasy points per game. A heavy chunk of his points came from tackling, as the 28-year-old recorded 108 tackles (31st in NFL), and only missed 12.2% of his tackle opportunities in the process (according to PFF). Of his 108 tackles, 18 of them came in the backfield for a loss, which ranked top 20 in the entire NFL.
Despite this, Grugier-Hill is currently ranked as the 110th individual defensive player on FantasyPros. Only five NFL players recorded over 100 tackles while missing three or more games, and Kamu Grugier-Hill was one of them. He is currently listed as a starter on the Texans depth chart.
Sam Williams (DE – Sam Williams)
Only six players in the entire FBS recorded more pressures than Sam Williams last season. Only five FBS players had more sacks than Sam Williams in 2021. At 6’4″ 261 lbs, Williams dominated SEC competition at Ole Miss with his freakish athleticism. He ran a blazing fast 4.46 40-yard dash, which places him in the top one percent of NFL defensive ends. His lower body strength is a plus, producing a broad jump that’s in the top 10 percent for his position.
Athletically, Sam Williams can be a power and finesse rusher at the next level. His numbers show he displayed it in college. With Randy Gregory in Denver, the right defensive end is wide open. Williams could walk into instant playing time as soon as week 1. Sam Williams is currently outside the top IDP 134 on FantasyPros.
Divine Deablo (S/LB – LV)
Speaking of freak athletes, Divine Deablo checks every box that a physical freak of nature would check. Standing at 6’3″ 226 lbs, both his height and weight are in the top two percent for safeties and the top 20 percent for linebackers. His 33-inch arms and 31-inch vertical are in the top 10 percent of NFL linebackers. He ran a 4.42 40-yard dash, which is in the top five percent for linebackers.
It didn’t take long for this to translate to NFL production. Deablo became the starter in week 13 and never looked back. He recorded 33 tackles and only missed one tackle (2.2%) in those six games. Deablo is currently ranked 116th overall on FantasyPros, as his major upside makes him an extremely underrated value.
