Treylon Burks reportedly ready to practice by Titans’ training camp

According to Turron Davenport, Tennessee Titans WR coach Rob Moore said he has no doubt that Treylon Burks will be ready to practice when the team’s training camp begins on July 27th. Fantasy Impact: Burks, who was selected by the Titans in the first round of April’s NFL Draft, has had a bumpy start to his first NFL offseason. Burks joined the Titans with big shoes to fill as the de facto A.J. Brown replacement after Tennessee traded Brown to the Eagles and selected Burks with a pick they acquired in the trade. Ironically, Burks most common player comp during the pre-draft process was Brown, with both WRs having elite size and run after the catch ability for the position. Burks asthma issues have prevented him from building on the-field chemistry with QB Ryan Tannehill up to this point, but it would bode well for Burks redraft outlook if he were able to participate in a full training camp. Burks came from an Arkansas program that fed him the ball through a high volume of manufactured touches, so he may have a bigger than usual learning curve when it comes to running a full NFL route tree, but his elite physical traits make him a high upside player.

James White still walking with ‘uncomfortable gait’

According to Mike Reiss, James White “was still walking with what appeared to be an uncomfortable gait” during a public appearance earlier this week. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: James White’s 2021 season was cut short after suffering a hip subluxation in Week 3 vs the New Orleans Saints. Though he underwent successful surgery, it remains unclear when he’ll be able to return to the field. White is a candidate to begin the year on the PUP list and should be avoided by fantasy managers until there is a clear-cut report on his readiness for the 2022 season. White is currently being drafted as RB65 in full-PPR leagues, according to FantasyPros average draft position.

Mac Jones confident heading into second season

Former first-round draft pick, Mac Jones has ‘made significant strides’ heading into 2022, he told Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston per Michael Baca of NFL.com. One of the major focuses for the Patriots quarterback was becoming more disciplined with his diet this offseason. Jones’ teammates have also noticed the second-year QB becoming more of a vocal presence on the field, stating his leadership qualities have gone to “another level”. (Source: Michael Baca of NFL.com)

Fantasy Impact: Mac Jones is coming off a highly successful rookie campaign in which he started all 17 games, ending the season with 3,801 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, and the second-highest completion percentage (67.56) by a rookie all-time. Jones also led the New England Patriots to a 10-7 record and led them back to the postseason. Still, despite all of Jones’ success as a rookie, he mostly served as a game manager for the majority of 2021 with only 11.3 percent of his attempts going for more than 20 yards. With Patriots veterans due to report to training camp on July 26th, it will be interesting to watch how a more confident, slimmer, Mac Jones operates in this offense in year two. Though, until the Patriots let up on their conservative play calling, Jones, who’s ADP currently sits at 24, is only worth rostering in dynasty or two quarterback/super-flex leagues.
