Christian Watson placed on PUP list

Fantasy Impact: The Packers selected Watson with the 34th pick in the NFL draft out of North Dakota State University. He was a bit of a surprise addition to their PUP list as it is unclear exactly what caused the Packers to place him onto it. If Watson is unable to get any work in, during training camp and/or the preseason, that could hinder his ability to produce with Aaron Rodgers being a known stickler for chemistry. If Watson does carve out a role in the high octane Green Bay offense he will absolutely be worth a roster spot in all formats, with a large boost in dynasty leagues.

Fantasy Impact: Dobbins suffered a torn ACL in preseason almost a year ago, and has been working his way back towards a potential healthy season. Last week Dobbins indicated on Twitter that he is “going to be ready for week 1.” It seems unlikely that Dobbins will see any preseason action, but if the 23 year old out of Ohio St. is healthy come week 1 he is primed for a big season. Dobbins is slated to be the primary back in an excellent Ravens rushing offense, and fantasy managers should not be afraid to draft him at his ADP despite injury concerns.

Fantasy Impact: Tonyan had a breakout season in 2020 when he led all tight ends with 11 touchdown catches. He also had career highs with 52 catches for 586 receiving yards. He saw a decrease in production, particularly in the red zone, in 2021 before suffering a season-ending injury. Reports have said Tonyan may miss the start of the season, and if he isn’t activated by then, he will miss the first four weeks. Tonyan, who’s being drafted outside the top 15 tight ends in PPR formats, according to FantasyPros average draft position, could provide a sense of familiarity to Rodgers on a receiving core full of new faces. Tonyan finished as the TE3 in 2020.

David Bell to begin training camp on the active/PUP

Cleveland Browns rookie WR David Bell is one of a small group of players who will begin training camp on the active/PUP list. His foot injury is not serious, and he should begin practicing soon per Browns beat writer, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Fantasy Impact: David Bell was super productive in his three seasons at Purdue. In 29 career games with the Boilermakers, he averaged 101.2 yards per game while finishing his collegiate career with 21 touchdown receptions. Unfortunately, a poor combine performance knocked Bell down draft boards in this year’s NFL draft before the Browns used their 99th pick in the third round to select the Purdue product. Cleveland was a good landing spot for Bell, as he joins a team who doesn’t have a second starting wideout locked up opposite of new addition, Amari Cooper. Once David Bell gets on the practice field, he will have every chance to carve out a significant role and possibly become the number two receiving option. Obviously, drafting any wideout in Cleveland comes with a risk for the 2022 season because of the inevitable Deshaun Watson suspension looming, but David Bell has a path to becoming second on the team in targets with fantasy managers only having to invest a double-digit round pick in the wideout.
