Tuesday’s main slate is chock full of games on DraftKings and FanDuel. However, it’s different for both providers. At DK, there are 15 games. Yet, the second game of the doubleheader between the Twins and Guardians isn’t on FD’s main slate. As a result, their slate is 14 games.
Tuesday's Starting Pitcher Strategy
A couple of aces are the respective top pitcher in cash games and GPPs. Behind them, a couple of cap-friendly hurlers are great SP2s at DK and GPP selections at FD.

Cash Game Recommendations:
Carlos Rodon (SF) vs. DET
Rodon has been amazing this year. Still, he's been on a remarkable heater lately. According to FanGraphs, in his last five starts totaling 30.0 innings, he's twirled a 1.20 ERA, 2.78 xFIP, 0.83 WHIP, 31.9 K% and 31.9 CSW%.
Rodon has a great matchup tonight. The Tigers are 21st in wRC+ (97) versus lefties in 2022. Finally, the betting info is optimal. The Giants are -195, and the game's over/under is 7.0 runs, per Betting Pros.
Jon Gray (TEX) at KC
Gray has been white-hot, too. In his previous five starts spanning 30.2 innings, he's had a 2.64 ERA, 3.24 xFIP, 1.01 WHIP, 29.3 K% and 31.9 CSW%. Further, like Rodon, he has a fantasy-friendly matchup.
The Royals are 25th in wRC+ (87) against righties this year. Additionally, they've been mired in a slump. Over the last 14 days, Kansas City has been tied for 22nd in wRC+ (92). Sadly, the game's over/under is slightly scary at 9.0 runs. Thankfully, the Rangers are -145.
GPP Recommendations:
Zack Wheeler (PHI) vs. ATL
Sometimes, chasing a high ceiling requires taking a chance. Over the last 14 days, the Braves have had a 121 wRC+. However, they've still struck out at an exploitable 23.6% clip. In addition, their 25.4 K% against righties is tied for the second-highest mark.
If anyone will exploit their high strikeout rate and avoid damage, Wheeler is a good bet. In his last five starts totaling 29.1 innings, he's had a 1.84 ERA, 2.76 xFIP, 1.06 WHIP, 6.7 BB%, 29.2 K% and 28.8 CSW%. Wheeler has lived up to his ace billing this year. Thus, he's a talent-driven GPP pick facing a strikeout-prone lineup that can help him hit his ceiling.
Shane Baz (TB) vs. MIL
Baz has made only three starts for the Rays after opening 2022 on the Injured List. Nevertheless, he's shown excellent bat-missing ability, evidenced by his 28.3 K% and 12.4 SwStr%. Frankly, Baz's elite strikeout ability is reason enough to use him in GPPs.
Still, his salary is nifty, and the Brewers are merely a mid-pack opponent. So, there's more to like than just Baz's high-strikeout rate. He's a great pick in GPPs. However, he's nipping at Gray's heels for the best SP2 option in cash games on DK.
Top Lineup Stacks
Patrick Corbin is entirely washed-up. The veteran lefty has a 6.60 ERA in 15 starts, and he's coughed up at least three runs in eight straight starts, and a dozen turns overall. He can make any lineup look elite. Thus, jumping on Pittsburgh's lineup's value is a no-brainer tonight.
- Road (Coors Field)
- Value: Low
- Risk: Low
- Game Type: Both
- Game Total/Moneyline: 11.0 Runs/LAD -220
It can't get worse than last night for the Dodgers. Remarkably, they were shut out at Coors Field on Monday night. Thankfully, they have another opportunity to take advantage of MLB's most hitter-friendly ballpark tonight. Additionally, they square off with a pitch-to-contact lefty with ghastly ERA estimators. Kyle Freeland has had a 5.04 xERA, 4.73 xFIP and 4.70 SIERA. Thus, the Dodgers are an excellent bet to bounce back from their disappointing showing last night.
- Home (Busch Stadium)
- Value: Low
- Risk: Medium
- Game Type: GPP
- Game Total/Moneyline: 8.5 Runs/STL -157
This season, the Cardinals are tied for the fourth-highest wRC+ (118) against southpaws. So, while young Braxton Garrett hasn't wilted under the bright lights of The Show, the Red Birds are a challenge for even an elite lefty. Garrett has had a solid-if-unspectacular 4.08 ERA. That's hardly a mark to avoid with a lefty-mashing lineup like St. Louis's.
- Trea Turner is the catalyst atop the Dodgers' lineup and attached to a huge implied team total. Additionally, he kills lefties. Since 2019, he's had a 163 wRC+ against southpaws.
- Yordan Alvarez has been borderline unstoppable this year. Among qualified hitters, he's fourth in OBP (.404), third in ISO (.338) and second in wRC+ (198).
- Ke'Bryan Hayes gets the first crack at Corbin from the leadoff spot. Thankfully, the right-handed third baseman is a thorn in the side of lefties. In his career, he's had a 133 wRC+ against southpaws.
- Michael Chavis is a perfect power source for a punt. Since 2019, he's muscled up for a .232 ISO against lefties.
- Trayce Thompson has had under 75 plate appearances in the majors since 2021. He was out of the bigs in 2019 and 2020. Simply, Thompson is a journeyman. Nevertheless, the right-handed-hitting veteran has had a useful .220 ISO against lefties in his career.
- Diego Castillo another cheap power source against Corbin. In his first 85 plate appearances against lefties in the majors, he's had a .250 ISO.
Tuesday's Hitter Strategy
The bargain Buccos are an integral part of tonight's hitter strategy. Using their cap-friendly hitters opens up valuable resources for stud hitters like Turner and Alvarez.
