Max Scherzer tweets that dog bite is ‘non-story’
Max Scherzer clarified on Twitter an earlier report that the dog bite on his hand was not severe and is a “non-story.” (Source: Max Scherzer on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: He tweeted that his dog hurt her leg while on a run, and when he tried to comfort her, she bit his left hand. He subsequently took one day off from throwing and played long toss the next day. The bite should not impact the timetable of his recovery from an oblique injury in any way.

Fernando Tatis Jr. (wrist) takes ground balls Saturday

Fantasy Impact: Tatis still isn’t cleared to swing a bat. Padres manager Bob Melvin said he hopes that will come sometime next week. There is a chance Tatis can return later this month or in July if he can get cleared to swing the bat soon.

Jacob deGrom (shoulder) throws bullpen session Saturday

Fantasy Impact: deGrom threw 19 pitches, all of them fastballs. His next step will be facing hitters in live batting practice, but he’s not there yet. He remains without a clear timetable, but it sounds like he could return sometime in July.
