Dustin May currently with no timetable to return
Dustin May is still working his way back from Tommy John surgery but currently has no timeline for a return. Dave Roberts said the plan is to build him up as a starter, but that he is not currently at that point. (Source: Fabian Ardaya on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: May pitched in five games in 2021 before requiring Tommy John surgery. He was 1-1 with a 2.74 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, 13.70 K/9, and 2.35 BB/9 last season. Fantasy managers should be prepared for the Dodgers to make sure May is 100% ready to go before he rejoins the rotation.

Ketel Marte leaves Thursday’s game with a tight hamstring
Ketel Marte was removed from Wednesday’s game in the ninth inning with a tight hamstring. The move was described as precautionary. (Source: Zach Buchanan on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: In 61 games this season, Marte is slashing .269/.341/.435 with four home runs, 22 RBIs, four stolen bases, and 33 runs scored. The move to take him out late in the game makes sense since the Diamondbacks have an off day Thursday. Fantasy managers are going to want to keep an eye out for updates to see if Marte is in the lineup on Friday as the D-backs start a series with the Twins.

Freddy Peralta has begun a throwing program
Freddy Peralta has begun a throwing program. He was placed on the 15-day IL on May 23rd with a strained right lat and is expected to miss a significant amount of time. (Source: Curt Hogg on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Peralta recently moved to the 60-day IL, although that was more of a paper move to clear a 40-man roster spot and will not impact his timeline. It is a positive sign that this early into his lat injury that he has already begun throwing. Fantasy managers that moved Peralta to IL will be happy to hopefully have him back for the fantasy playoffs.

Chris Sale expected to start once activated
Chris Sale is expected to be a starter once activated from the IL. There was once talk during Sale’s recovery that the Red Sox would initially bring him back in the bullpen. (Source: Chris Cotillo on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Manager Alex Cora seemed pretty sure in his comments that they view Sale as a starter. Bringing Sale back in the bullpen was initially a way to get him back with the team sooner, but it looks like the Sox would rather wait and bring him back once he’s ready to start games. Sale will likely begin a rehab assignment soon after a successful live BP session this week.
