Starling Marte (left quad tightness) expects to avoid IL
Mets OF Starling Marte stated Wednesday that he is feeling better and does not expect to land on the IL due to left quad tightness. (Source: Anthony DiComo on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: This would be a massive break for the Mets. With Pete Alonso considered day-to-day, having Marte out for an extended period of time would impact their offense. Marte is hitting .277, with seven home runs, 33 RBIs, and eight stolen bases in 2022.
Kris Bryant (back) took dry swings for first time Wednesday
Rockies third baseman Kris Bryant finally swung a bat for the first time since landing back on the IL on May 23. (Source: NBC Sports)
Fantasy Impact: There is still no clear timetable for his return. But at the very least, he is swinging a baseball bat. That is after all what Colorado gave him $182 million for. He has played 17 games this season.
Max Muncy could return to lineup Thursday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that there is a “good possibility” that Wednesday will be the end of Max Muncy’s rehab assignment and that he could be in the lineup as soon as tomorrow. (Source: Jack Harris on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Muncy hasn’t been very productive in his rehab outing, but the Dodgers still seem satisfied with the progress Muncy has made. He hasn’t been good in 2022, hitting just .150/.327/.263, but hopefully this time on the IL has been beneficial for Muncy’s elbow going forward.
Clayton Kershaw (pelvis) to return Sunday
Clayton Kershaw is expected to make his return on Sunday against the Giants. (Source: Jack Harris on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Kershaw was solid in his last rehab outing for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, allowing one run over four innings. He made his last start back on May 7. Walker Buehler is scheduled to start on Friday and Julio Urias on Saturday with Kershaw pitching the series finale on Sunday.
Pete Alonso (hand) considered day-to-day
It is being reported that there are no breaks or fractures for Pete Alonso. His hand is merely swollen. (Source: Anthony DiComo on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: “I’m kind of surprised in a good way how it feels today,” Alonso said. He is considered day-to-day for now as he is not in Wednesday’s lineup.
