2022 IDP Dynasty Rookie Draft Player Notes

Devin Lloyd – Jacksonville Jaguars, Pick 27
This is an awesome landing spot for his IDP value. The Jaguars decided to trade up for him, even with all the holes on the roster so he’s clearly a big part of the plans moving forward. Lloyd will pair with free-agent signing Foyesade Oluokon for a team that will be spending most of their time on defense and he should rack up tackles!

Quay Walker – Green Bay Packers, Pick 22
WOW! Walker has a lot of upside for sure, but I didn’t see him being the first LB off the board! I thought he would be a better Pro than College player eventually but he will get a chance to start day 1 in Green Bay. The Packers have De’Vondre Campbell as the #1 but have been looking for a 2nd LB and one that can cover for a bit and Walker should fill that role immediately. I would still take Lloyd ahead of him but he will have a lot of value in dynasty leagues.

Christian Harris – Houston Texans, Pick 75
I like this landing spot for Harris because the Texans are fairly LB needy. Harris should start as the 3rd or Nickel/LB and will most likely get some steady playing time later in the season, especially with Kirksey’s injury history. Harris is a project but he has a ton of speed and can tackle, he should be able to work on his craft on the field this season and if he plays well enough a starting gig should be there for him in 2023.

Nakobe Dean – Philadelphia Eagles, Pick 83
Dean plummeted in the draft due to a pectoral tear that he elected not to have surgery on and ended up in Philly where they have been LB needy for a while. The best part is that as an undersized LB his Georgia teammate Jordan Davis got a lot of credit for clearing blockers for him and he ended up on the same squad with him in the NFL. Dean’s injury makes his value for this season fairly low, but he’s a great grab-and-stash in dynasty leagues.

Troy Andersen – Atlanta Falcons, Pick 58
This pick is similar for IDP leagues as it is for the Falcons, an investment with high upside. Andersen didn’t start playing Linebacker until two years ago, so he will get to sit behind Deion Jones and Rashaan Evans and learn for a bit. I wouldn’t bet against him earning a role at some point this season and he can probably get work on trick plays immediately.
