Let’s take a look at the latest injury news and notes around fantasy baseball, involving Tim Anderson, Royce Lewis, and Oneil Cruz. And check out all of our latest injury news on our fantasy baseball news desk.
Tim Anderson (strained right groin) to be placed on injured list

Fantasy Impact: Devastating news for fantasy owners, as Anderson had posted an impressive .356/.393/.503 slash line with five home runs, eight stolen bases, 24 runs scored, and 19 runs batted in through 40 games for the White Sox this season. Anderson will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the groin strain and exactly how long the superstar will be sidelined.

Royce Lewis diagnosed with bone bruise in knee

Fantasy Impact: Despite Rocco Baldelli indicating earlier in the day that Lewis was probably headed to the IL, the Twins will now wait a few days for the swelling to go down before they evaluate Lewis further. This is pretty much the best case scenario for fantasy managers given Lewis’s history with knee injuries, and they should now try to hold him if possible with him looking less likely to miss significant time.

Oneil Cruz suffers ‘minor ankle injury’ on Sunday
Oneil Cruz was removed from Sunday’s game for Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday with a “minor ankle injury” that he suffered sliding into a base. (Source: Jason Mackey on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: The fact that the injury is reportedly minor is obviously good news, but anything that derails Cruz’s seemingly imminent promotion is worrisome. After a dreadful start, Cruz has really picked it up of late, and now has six home runs and 10 steals on the year. This ankle injury may be just what Pittsburgh needs to justify keeping him down a few more weeks to pass the Super Two deadline, so fantasy managers need to prepare themselves to have a bit of patience, regardless of the further details of Cruz’s injury.
