Brandon Nimmo dealing with sore wrist

Fantasy Impact: Both Nimmo and Buck Showalter said that they did not believe that the injury would necessitate an IL stint, and both are hoping that Nimmo will be back in the lineup by Monday. Nimmo has apparently been dealing with the wrist issue for most of May, and his slugging percentage has been about 70 points lower in the month than in April. For now, it seems like Nimmo will be back early next week, so there’s no reason for managers to take any drastic action.

Jacob deGrom (shoulder) has not begun throwing off mound yet

Fantasy Impact: deGrom said he isn’t sure when he will begin throwing off the mound. He remains without a clear timetable to return for the Mets, but he does appear to be slowly headed in the right direction.

Fantasy Impact: Jimenez exited the game after reaching first base on a single. He took himself out, walking off with a trainer. It is unclear at the moment what his updated timetable is, but more information should be released relatively soon on his status as the original hope was that he could return to the White Sox sometime in June.

Fantasy Impact: Eric Haase pinch-hit for Cabrera against Shane Bieber with runner on and two outs in the eighth inning. It may have been more of a precautionary move, but there should be a further update on Cabrera’s status by Sunday.

Mitch Garver dealing with sore knee

Fantasy Impact: Garver was also out Friday and it sounds like he’ll miss the entire weekend series against the A’s. Scans reportedly came back relatively clean and there’s hope that he’ll be good to go by the start of the Rangers’ homestand on Monday. The fact that he’s still battling injury despite being limited to DH is a bit worrisome, but so long as there are no setbacks, he will continue to be a starting option even in single-catcher formats.
