Dynasty Rookie Draft Sleepers to Target

Alec Pierce (WR – IND)
No. 12 overall, +8 vs. ECR

The Colts are gearing up to throw the ball more with their quarterback upgrade in Matt Ryan. Alec Pierce fills a huge need for this franchise. Parris Campbell hasn’t been able to stay on the field despite his raw talent, and the franchise lost Zach Pascal in the offseason. Pierce is an athletic freak who will help stretch the field from Day 1. While his route tree was limited at Cincinnati, he has the raw talent to develop into a player that can contend with Michael Pittman for the team lead in targets yearly if he hits the upper range of his outcomes. His blend of athletic profile and surprising draft capital is worth taking a shot on aggressively in dynasty rookie drafts.

Tyrion Davis-Price (RB – SF)
No. 21 overall, +22 vs. ECR

If it’s not Elijah Mitchell taking back the reigns, then it’s equally viable Tyrion Davis-Price could be that dude. After the team burnt a third-round pick the year before on bench warmer extraordinaire Trey Sermon, the hesitation to invest in this backfield is real. Davis-Price performed well in his athletic testing with a 77th percentile 40-yard dash and 73rd percentile 10-yard split time. Since 2020 the 49ers are fifth in neutral rushing rate (47%). There’s volume to support multiple rushers as matchup or flex players or one rusher that could easily be a weekly top 20 option.

Jelani Woods (TE – IND)
No. 28 overall +4 vs. ECR

Jelani Woods now resides with tight end committee zealot Frank Reich. While the Colts have utilized the position regularly in the passing game and in the red zone, they have religiously done so with multiple players. This shrapnels the target share into obscurity. This easily could be the fate for Woods. The upside hope for Woods resides in his insane athleticism taking over the room and the Colts not wishing to take him off the field. He also has the fact that Mo Alie-Cox will be 29 this season and is on a team-friendly deal that they can get out of with no dead cap hit as soon as 2024 in his corner.
