Dynasty IDP Rookie Prospect Profile: Troy Andersen (2022 Fantasy Football)

Scott Bogman — host of the FantasyPros Dynasty Football Podcast and IDP Podcast — teamed with Joe Pisapia — Co-Host of the IDP Podcast — to provide dynasty rookie profiles for IDP players. They break down the top names of the 2022 NFL Draft class as you prepare for your dynasty rookie and startup drafts.

Dynasty IDP Rookie Prospect Profile

Troy Andersen has only been playing linebacker for two years after starting his career at QB for Montana State, and he was the FCS ADA National Defensive Player of the year in 2021. Andersen had 147 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and a TD in his Senior year. The athleticism is elite, and he had the fastest 40 time of any LB at 4.42 and a perfect 10 RAS at the combine. The upside is there for sure, and he can play on defense and have offensive packages designed for him. Anderson will most certainly be a special teams contributor early in his career. The downside to Andersen for NFL teams is the lack of experience at the position and the lower level of competition coming from an FCS school. Andersen won’t be someone on radars at the beginning of the season but has a chance to develop into a monster down the road. He could be a pickup at the end of the season in re-draft IDP leagues but is a better long-term investment in Dynasty IDP leagues.
