Dynasty IDP Rookie Prospect Profile
DeMarvin Leal has a similar skill set to Kansas City defensive tackle Chris Jones. Jones is a high mark for any player to reach, but Leal’s film looks very similar. Leal lined up all along the defensive line for the Aggies and won with speed on the inside and power on the outside. However, the most impressive thing when watching him in college was his active hands. Not only was Leal able to get a strong push with his hands on a straight rush, but he also set up leverage with a punch to the outside shoulder to get an offensive lineman off-balance and then scoot past him. He also times passes well to get a hand up and knock balls down. Getting an every-down role for Leal could be great for IDP leagues that require DTs, as he will record more tackles than most interior linemen and will be able to rush the passer on passing downs.

Landing Spot and Dynasty Outlook
DeMarvin Leal - Pittsburgh Steelers, Pick 84
Leal slipped a little bit from the beginning of last season to the draft in perceived value but ended up in a good spot with Pittsburgh. Leal will be especially valuable if Stephon Tuitt doesn’t come back. Leal can play inside if needed but excels as an Edge rusher. The opportunity is there for him if he looks good in camp and preseason
