Dynasty IDP Rookie Prospect Profile
Daxton Hill is listed as a safety and has played there, but in 2021 he played almost 70% of his snaps as a slot CB. Hill is fast and can play any DB position on the field but letting him play all over the place while mainly at FS would be best for him. Hill fits at Free Saftey because it allows him to use his speed range, make tackles or plays on the ball, and cover up his weaknesses. Hill can miss tackles if he doesn’t get a wind up to tackle, and he has had some issues keeping up when asked to flip his hips as a corner, so starting behind and being able to play up the field should be best for him. Hill should be able to get on the field at least in sub-packages his rookie year, but his willingness to make a tackle and his ability to read and react makes him worth a grab in Dynasty IDP formats.

Daxton Hill – Cincinnati Bengals, Pick 31
Hill is in Cincinnati to eventually replace Jessie Bates (Bates is playing on the Franchise Tag this season) but even if Bates plays this year Hill can be used as a slot CB or even play outside. Hill is a ‘Do-it-All’ type of Saftey that will but up big tackle numbers and make the occasional play on the ball. Hill should be a very high pick in IDP rookie drafts and will hold value for this season even if he isn’t a starting Saftey because he has great versatility.
