Dynasty IDP Rookie Prospect Profile
Anyone that can climb draft boards at UConn has my respect, and Travis Jones had great numbers despite UConn barely ever being in consistent passing protection sets. Travis Jones isn’t versatile like many of the DLs in this class, but he is consistently a menace to the offensive line. Jones’s enormous size limits him to move laterally, but one block won’t hold him, and he can push through a double team.
I don’t think his College stats will reflect what he will do in the NFL unless he ends up in a situation similar to UConn on a bottom dweller. UConn was down a lot, and as an interior defender, Jones had a lot of chances at tackling runs up the gut with very few opportunities to rush the passer. I think he will have more sacks and fewer tackles at the next level if he earns a starting role quickly.

Travis Jones – Baltimore Ravens, Pick 76
Jones ends up with a great team around him but they are also pretty flush along the defensive line. The Ravens have Pierce, Campbell and Madubuike along the interior of the line so Jones will probably have a fairly limited role to start barring injuries.
