Scott Bogman, the host of the FantasyPros Dynasty Football Podcast and IDP Podcast, teamed with Joe Pisapia, co-host of the IDP Podcast, to provide dynasty rookie profiles for IDP players. They break down the top names of the 2022 NFL Draft class as you prepare for your dynasty rookie and startup drafts.
Dynasty IDP Rookie Prospect Profile
Kayvon Thibodeaux has been at the top of draft boards for this class for a long time. Thibodeaux was the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2019 class. His first step is incredible and by far the best part of his game. Thibs can also win with his flexibility; he really gets those offensive linemen off-balance with leverage and then bolts past them. The biggest knock on Thibodeaux is that he’s so good athletically that he relies on getting the best of his opponent and doesn’t have the best instincts. The good news is that he can be coached up and become a complete player, but the first step and overall athleticism are things that cannot be taught. Some have criticized him for taking plays off, but I feel like it’s more frustration after taking the wrong path or getting beat on a play. Regardless of the reasoning, that shouldn’t last very long at the next level. I doubt he drops out of the top five picks.

Jordan Davis – Philadelphia Eagles, Round 1: Pick 13
Davis is a great pick for an NFL team but for fantasy purposes, he probably won’t offer a ton of return unless you are in a DT-required league and even then he’ll be just serviceable. The Eagles have really good DTs on the roster right now in Fletcher Cox and Javon Hargrave so Davis’s role is a little TBA. I would venture to guess that Davis will be on the field for 1st and 2nd down as a run stuffer and come off the field on passing downs for Fletcher and Cox. He should make the LBs much better in Philly because he requires two offensive lineman to block every snap.
