Dynasty IDP Rookie Prospect Profile
George Karlaftis moved to the United States from Greece when he was 13-years-old, became an all-state shot putter, and then transitioned into football. Karlaftis is the “grinder” of all the edge rushers who have a chance to go in the first round, and he is a very high-level athlete. He’s more of a power rusher than a speed rusher. Karlaftis works relentlessly and knows where to be. He doesn’t have great length but makes up for it with crazy power and great push. In addition, Karlaftis offers versatility, as he’s powerful enough to play inside and fast enough to seal the edge. He should be a rare rookie edge rusher who will be able to play all three downs and could contribute significantly this year if he lands in the right situation.

George Karlaftis - Kansas City Chiefs, Round 1: Pick 30
This pick gets me excited for my IDP rookie drafts! Karlaftis fell too late in the 1st round and the Chiefs snapped him up and dropped him in a perfect spot for production. Karlaftis should replace Danna as a starter from the jump and we know the Chiefs will be sitting on a lot of leads and the lineman can pin their ears back and get after the QB. Karlaftis is also good enough to hold up against the run and should be a 3 down starter even in his rookie season.
