Dynasty IDP Rookie Prospect Profile
Brian Asamoah is a linebacker with great speed and tackles with bad intentions but can get lost in any misdirection. It was interesting to see the jump from 20 to 21 in terms of play recognition for him, as he was able to recognize and disrupt more plays his second year as a starter, so there is definitely “meat on the bone” in terms of more upside. Asamoah is slightly undersized at 6’0″ and 226 lbs and can get blown out of a play or bodied up on a pass attempt on occasion. However, Asamoah doesn’t let any miss discourage him, and he will pop right up and get after it on the next play. Asamoah will need to play special teams before getting routine playing time, but he’s another prospect with enough upside to warrant a Day 2 investment.

Landing Spot and Dynasty Outlook
Brian Asamoah - Minnesota Vikings, Pick 66
Asamoah should see immediate time on special teams but will be firmly 3rd on the depth chart to start the season in Minnesota behind Kendricks and Hicks. Dynasty owners shouldn’t have to wait long as both starting LBs are signed through 2023, but also offer big cap savings should they be cut. A year of development while getting a little on field work should go a long way for Asamoah in play recognition and bulking up to withstand an entire NFL season.
