Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 22

Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 22

It’s Sunday, and you know what that means.

It’s time to get ready for another week of fantasy hoops. We are already heading into Week 22.

Each and every week, we’ll look at players that you should consider picking up who are rostered in four different rostership tiers:

  • 50-60%
  • 30-49%
  • 15-29%
  • 0-14%

What’s more, we’ll give you a breakdown of how many games each team has for the upcoming week so that you can maximize the minutes of your streamers. We’ll be keeping playoffs in mind with this week’s crop of players, focusing on the four- and five-game teams.

Without further delay, let’s get to it, starting with the schedule and offensive pace ratings, thanks to our friends at Razzball.

Five games:

CLE

Four games:

ATL, BOS, CHI, DAL, DEN, DET, GSW, HOU, IND, LAC, LAL, MIA, MIL, NYK, OKC, ORL, PHI, POR, SAC, SAS, TOR, WAS

Three games:

BKN, CHA, MEM, MIN, NOR, PHX, UTA

Rostered in 50-60% of leagues:

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (PG,SG,SF – WAS) 58%

Caldwell-Pope continues to play major minutes with the loss of Bradley Beal (SG,SF – WAS) and Kyle Kuzma (SF,PF – WAS). He’s been over 30 in all but one game in March.

In true KCP fashion, the output has been inconsistent, but the volume has been there to give him top-90 value over the last month.

The Wizards have four games this upcoming week, and while the threat of young players starting to get more run in Washington is a possibility, KCP is safe to deploy once again.

Drew Eubanks (PF,C – POR) 57%

They are going to run out of 10-day contracts for Eubanks to sign by the time the season is over. But he’s on his fourth such contract now, and he’s on his eighth-straight game of scoring double-digits in points.

Over the last two weeks, Eubanks is the No. 55 player in fantasy – once again showing that opportunity is sometimes the most important thing you can have in fantasy hoops.

He showed that again over his last two games, where he dropped 18 points on the Rockets and registered a double-double against Houston Saturday night, as well.

Pick him up and run him out for the rest of the season.

Rostered in 30-49% of leagues:

Tyus Jones (PG – MEM) 30%

OK, I’m going to break my own rule here, as I have a three-game guy in Jones listed. But can you blame me?

The Grizzlies are without Ja Morant (PG – MEM) for this week, which means three games of starting for Jones.

He’s earning himself a nice new contract somewhere this offseason, as he’s posting an 11.9/6.6/3.4 line in his last 16 starts.

Fire him up this week, too.

Jose Alvarado (PG – NOP) 35%

“Can he shoot?”

“Yeah, I can shoot.”

It’s still one of the best moments from the NBA season, and Alvarado showed Saturday night that he can, in fact, shoot.

I’m just bending the rules in this tier completely, as the Pelicans, too, have three games next week. But Alvarado continues to play at a high level, coming off a career-high 23-point outing against the Spurs.

He’s been a top-30 player over the last two weeks and should be rostered moving forward.

Rostered in 15-29% of leagues:

Isaiah Roby (C – OKC) 21%

It’s really, really hard to trust anyone on the Thunder at this point in the season, as the Thunder are doing Thunder things by shutting their best players down for the tank job.

They seem to be comfy with Roby playing going forward, but I’m still slightly hesitant to go all-in on him. He’s played 25 or more minutes in his last four games, and he’s scored in double figures in three of them.

Of course, along with the threat of missing games, you also have to be wary of inconsistency for the young big, as he scored zero points (seven boards) in 26 minutes a week ago.

Precious Achiuwa (SF,PF,C – TOR) 29%

Achiuwa has scored in double-figures in all but two games this month, and he’s actually been playing bigger and more consistent minutes.

In three of his last five games, he’s scored at least 18 points and has a pair of nine-board games during that same stretch.

The Raptors have four games this week, and Achiuwa is on the board as a streaming option with his recent hot stretch.

Rostered in 0-14% of leagues:

Moe Wagner (PF,C – ORL) 14%

This is why you should end your leagues early. Because players like Wagner can decide playoff matchups.

Wagner has been a solid per-minute player down the stretch for the Magic, scoring in double-figures in seven of his last eight games.

He’s posting top-150 value over the last two weeks and he should continue to play at this level without Wendell Carter Jr. (C – ORL)

Isaac Okoro (SG,SF – CLE) 10%

If you’re the underdog in your matchup, you can grab Okoro. He’s so inconsistent that he’s tough to roster in fantasy, but it’s worth noting that the Cavs are the only team to play five games this week.

Okoro could backdoor his way into mid-round value this week based on volume alone.
