Last time, I did a fantasy baseball mock draft with a middle pick. That can be found here. When you have a middle pick, the advantages are not having to wait too long between each pick. With an early pick, you get an elite player in round one but you also have to wait quite long in a 12-team league between each selection. Let’s take a look at how this goes.
The roster is as followed: C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, three OF, UTIL, five SP, three RP, four BN and was conducted using FantasyPros Draft simulator.

Strengths
I focused a tad bit more on hitters than pitchers with this mock draft. I like the versatility of my hitters with Turner, Cronenworth, Bell, and France all holding eligibility in multiple positions. That is generally the way I tend to lean if I’m super close between two players to where I’ll choose the player who holds eligibility in 2-3 positions if there is one.
Weaknesses
It is pretty evident that I focused more on hitters in this particular mock draft, making the pitchers more of a weakness. I typically always wait on relief pitchers. It is arguably the most vulnerable position and with several job battles still needing to be decided, there are always closers who emerge on the waiver wire every year. I went a little more top-heavy with my starters, taking Woodruff and Wheeler at the 2/3 turn and then focusing on hitters in the next several rounds.
