These last few weeks have been out of control with the COVID craziness. The good news is that it feels like the worst is behind us, with numerous players returning recently. It’s unclear if we’ve hit the spike, but the injury reports would indicate that we have!
After a small slate on Tuesday, we’re back to a huge one here. We have 11 games making up this Wednesday card, with almost every team in action. That means there’s a lot to discuss, so let’s go ahead and get into it!

Injury Report
Core Plays
Joel Embiid (C – PHI): $11,200 DraftKings, $10,800 FanDuel
This dude is on another planet right now. Embiid has scored at least 53 DraftKings points in four straight fixtures, averaging an absurd 62 DK points per game in that span. That makes him worth it no matter the salary, especially in such a tasty matchup. Orlando ranks 25th in defensive efficiency ratings while surrendering the third-most fantasy points to opposing centers.
Tyler Herro (PG/SG – MIA): $6,900 DraftKings, $6,500 FanDuel
With Jimmy Butler expected to miss this game, Herro is one of the best plays on the board. Tyler leads Miami with a 32 percent usage rate with Butler off the floor, averaging 1.2 DK points per minute in those circumstances. That’s awesome since Herro has at least 30 DraftKings points in six of his last seven games. The best part of this might be the matchup, though, with Portland owning a 28th OPRK against opposing guards.
Patrick Beverley (PG – MIN): $5,600 DraftKings, $6,500 FanDuel
Beverley will rarely have 20-point games, but his ability to stuff the stat sheet makes him one of the best values out there. PB has scored at least 27 DraftKings points in seven of his last eight games, averaging over 32 fantasy points per game in that span. That’s impossible to find from a sub-$6K player, especially since he faces an OKC team with one of the weakest rosters in the NBA.
Cash Game Considerations
Nikola Jokic (C – DEN): $12,000 DraftKings, $11,400 FanDuel
Jokic is the best cash game option on every slate. The 2020-21 MVP has at least 41 DK points in all but one game this season, averaging nearly 60 fantasy points per game. Many people might be concerned with the Utah matchup, but The Joker has made minced meat of them over recent years. In fact, he’s scored at least 42 DK points in 14 of their last 15 meetings dating back three years, en route to a 59-point average.
Trae Young (PG – ATL): $10,700 DraftKings, $10,500 FanDuel
Young has been in takeover mode with John Collins and De’Andre Hunter sidelined. He’s scored at least 25 raw points in 16 straight games, scoring at least 43 DK points in all of those. That’s scary since he’s got 147 combined fantasy points over the last two games, one of the best stretches of any player all year. We certainly don’t expect Sacramento to slow him down, with the Kings ranked 26th in defensive efficiency and 28th in points allowed.
Clint Capela (C – ATL): $8,100 DraftKings, $8,300 FanDuel
We’ve said this before, but Cap’s rebounding ability makes him one of the best cash game plays on every slate. He’s got at least 33 DraftKings points in nine of his last 10 games, averaging 12.9 points and 14.4 rebounds per game in that span. You can’t ask for any more from someone in this price range, especially since Sacramento is playing without their starting center. That’s part of the reason why they own a 25th OPRK against opposing centers.
GPP Targets
Christian Wood (C – HOU): $6,200 DraftKings, $7,200 FanDuel
Wood was benched two games ago for conduct and got an outright suspension on Monday. That’s why his price dropped nearly $2,000, but we expect him to resume his full-time duties here. We anticipate him to be extra motivated after that situation, too, making him a considerable value with his 50-point potential. Washington is the best possible matchup as well, surrendering the most fantasy points to opposing centers.
Trey Lyles (PF – DET): $4,700 DraftKings, $4,800 FanDuel
Detroit’s frontcourt has been dismantled by injuries and COVID, playing without Jerami Grant, Kelly Olynyk, and Isaiah Stewart. That’s left Lyles with the most prominent role of his career, playing 71 combined minutes over the last two games. Those arent empty minutes either, with Trey scoring 67 DK points in those two outings and surpassing 23 fantasy points in four straight fixtures. That makes him an easy play at this price, particularly with Charlotte sitting 28th in defensive efficiency and dead-last in points allowed.
Devin Vassell (SF/PF – SAS): $4,300 DraftKings, $4,900 FanDuel
San Antonio is one of many teams amid a COVID breakout, missing Dejounte Murray and Lonnie Walker. That has left Vassell with a monster role, playing combined 70 minutes over the last two games. He averaged 30 DK points in both of those, making him an elite option in this $4K price range. Boston is a decent matchup, too, owning a 17th OPRK against opposing wings.
Value Plays
Anfernee Simons (PG – POR): $5,300 DraftKings, $5,500 FanDuel
With Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum both nicked up, it looks like Simons will be the focal point of the offense. That was certainly the case on Monday, with Anfernee amassing 43 points, three rebounds, and seven assists in the best game of his career. That will make him chalky, but it’s chalk you can’t fade at this unbelievable price tag. We also love that Miami owns a 25th OPRK against opposing point guards and is currently without two of their best defenders.
Mason Plumlee (C – CHA): $5,000 DraftKings, $5,600 FanDuel
We might have to change this article’s title into The Mason Plumlee Piece! This guy is in here almost every day, and I blame these DFS sites for keeping his price so low. Plumdog has been playing much more in the absence of P.J. Washington, picking up at least 27 minutes in three of his last four games. He’s also scored at least 31 DraftKings points in all of those, making this price tag challenging to understand. The matchup isn’t too shabby either, with Detroit sitting 22nd in defensive efficiency ratings.
Tre Jones (PG – SAS): $3,600 DraftKings, $4,100 FanDuel
With Murray and Walker both in COVID protocols, Jones has been asked to step in as the starting point guard. He’s been superb in that role, too, scoring at least 21 DK points in three of his last four games. That might not jump off the page, but it’s incredible for a guy that’s barely cracking a minimum price.
