QUARTERBACKS

Justin Fields vs. Vikings in Week 15
If Ben Roethlisberger is already rostered in your league and you need to stream a quarterback for Week 15, Fields is probably the next-best option. The rookie QBs weekly fantasy floor is worryingly low, but the attraction is his running ability, which gives him a lofty ceiling. Fields’ last start was against the Ravens in Week 11, and he was knocked out of that game with an injury to his ribs. In the two weeks before that, Fields was the QB5 and QB10 in fantasy scoring. Over his last five starts (including the Ravens game he left early), Fields has averaged 50.4 rushing yards. In Week 15, he’ll face a Vikings defense that’s giving up 21.1 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.

Ben Roethlisberger vs. Titans in Week 15
Big Ben is playing his best football of the season. He’s averaged 270.0 passing yards over his last four games, with nine TD passes over that stretch. Roethlisberger has thrown multiple TD passes in four of his previous five starts. With a shaky offensive line, the Steelers have struggled to run the ball all season, averaging 88.4 rushing yards per game and 3.7 yards per carry. In Week 15, they’ll face a pass-funnel Titans defense against whom opponents are throwing on 63% of their offensive snaps. (The league average is 58%.) The Titans are yielding 20.3 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, the third-highest total in the league. Among quarterbacks with less than 40% rostership, Roethlisberger is by far the most attractive streaming option for Week 15, so it might make sense to grab him early.

RUNNING BACKS

Khalil Herbert vs. Vikings in Week 15
At this late date in the season, you’re not going to find an obvious panacea at RB on waivers. But if you have an available roster spot, it makes sense to add a backup RB who could fall into a workhorse role if the starter were to be knocked out. That description fits Herbert, who’s rostered in 33% of CBS leagues. Bears RB David Montgomery is dealing with shoulder and groin issues. He will play in Week 14 but missed practice time this week. When Montgomery missed time with a knee injury earlier this season, Herbert was highly productive in his absence, averaging 12.3 fantasy points per game (0.5 PPR) from Week 5 to Week 8, making him the RB16 over that stretch. After a neutral matchup against the Vikings this week, the Bears have a pair of favorable running-game matchups against the Seahawks and Giants.

Jordan Howard vs. Football Team in Week 15
Howard missed Weeks 12-13 with a knee injury, but Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said this week he’s “hopeful” Howard will be back when the team emerges from its Week 14 bye. In four games this season, Howard has 51-273-3 rushing, averaging 5.4 yards per carry. From Week 8 to Week 11, he was the RB15 in half-point PPR fantasy scoring without catching a single pass. The Philadelphia offense has been freakishly run-heavy of late. Since Howard made his season debut in Week 8, the Eagles have run the ball on 64% of their offensive snaps. They have a neutral running-game matchup against Washington in Week 15 and a favorable matchup against the Giants in Week 16.

Kenneth Gainwell vs. Football Team in Week 15
Gainwell might be the next best thing if you can’t get Jordan Howard. I emphasize the word “might” because Gainwell’s place in the Eagles’ RB pecking order has fluctuated. He was the backup to Miles Sanders early in the season, but he was recently running No. 4 behind Sanders, Howard, and Boston Scott. With Howard and Scott both out in Week 13, Gainwell had 12-54-1 rushing and 5-33-0 receiving in a win over the Jets. As run-heavy as the Eagles have been, Gainwell could have value in Week 15 if Howard cannot return from his knee injury. (Scott should be back from a non-COVID illness next week.)

WIDE RECEIVERS

K.J. Osborn at Bears in Week 15
Osborn will retain fantasy viability if Adam Thielen misses another game with a high-ankle sprain. This week, Thielen was out for the Vikings’ Thursday-night game against the Steelers, and Osborn finished with 3-83-1, highlighted by a 62-yard TD catch early in the fourth quarter. Despite finishing with only three catches, Osborn was targeted nine times vs. Pittsburgh.

Sterling Shepard vs. Cowboys in Week 15
Shepard has been out since Week 8 with a quad injury but seems likely to return this weekend. Giants rookie WR Kadarius Toney has been sidelined by an oblique injury. If Toney remains out, Shepard will be the best bet to lead the Giants in targets and receptions against the Cowboys in Week 15. Shepard has only played five games this season and was injured in two of them. In the three full games he’s played, he put up 26-283-1 receiving on 33 targets. Even if it’s Mike Glennon at quarterback for the Giants in Week 15, Shepard could be a solid WR3 option.

TIGHT ENDS

Ricky Seals-Jones at Eagles in Week 15
With Logan Thomas on injured reserve with a knee injury. Seals-Jones is once again Washington’s top tight end. When Thomas was sidelined by a different injury earlier this season, RSJ had 20-192-1 over a five-game stint as a starter before sustaining a hip injury that knocked him out for a few games. He’s back now and gets a favorable Week 15 matchup vs. the Eagles, who are yielding 11.2 fantasy points per game to tight ends.

Austin Hooper vs. Raiders in Week 15
In his last game, Hooper was blanked by the Ravens in Week 12, but he had 4-25-1 and 4-53-0 in the two games before that. No single Browns TE has been consistently fantasy-relevant, but collectively, Hooper, David Njoku, and Harrison Bryant have combined for 71-879-5 on 106 targets. Bryant will miss Week 14 with an ankle injury and might be out again next week. Njoku will miss Week 14 because he’s on the COVID-19 list. The Browns have a Week 15 date against a Raiders defense that’s giving up a league-high 12.4 fantasy points per game to tight ends. Hooper is a solid streaming option next week, and Njoku will be, too, if he’s back.

DEFENSES

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Texans in Week 15
Actually, BOTH defenses in this game are viable Week 15 streaming options since the Jaguars and Texans both have putrid offenses. If you have to pick one, go with the Jaguars. Opposing defenses are averaging a league-high 10.3 fantasy points a game vs. the Jaguars, while the Texans are giving up 9.5 FPPG to opposing defenses. Ultimately, it’s probably better to target the Texans rookie QB, Davis Mills, with a defense than the Jags’ more highly pedigreed rookie QB, Trevor Lawrence.

Cincinnati Bengals at Broncos in Week 15
The Bengals defense ranks a respectable 14th in fantasy scoring and faces a Broncos’ offense giving up 8.4 fantasy points per game to opposing defenses. This season, Cincinnati has recorded 32 sacks, and Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater has been sacked 28 times.
