Week 15? Where did the season go? Week 15 isn’t even officially here yet, and it’s already been a brutal week with covid cases and injuries. In the last few days alone, we lost DeAndre Hopkins for the season, Jaylen Waddle, Tyler Lockett, and the “Browns” were placed on the COVID list, and the biggest shock of all… Urban Meyer was fired. Okay, we all saw that last one coming, but those other things really change the landscape of the Week 15 slate. Not to mention, originally with a Thursday night game, Monday night game, and two Saturday night games, the player pool is fairly shallow as well. That’s obviously changed with several other games getting bumped due to COVID concerns. Let’s get to this week…

Quarterback
DraftKings
Tyler Huntley (BAL) $5,400 vs. GB
If Lamar Jackson misses this game and Huntley gets the start, at $5,400 he makes for a solid floor play. In the two games this season in which Huntley has received significant playing time (last week and Week 11), he has 40 or more rushing yards in both games. He obviously doesn’t have the rushing upside that Lamar Jackson has, but you aren’t paying Lamar Jackson prices either — at $5,400, Huntley might be my favorite start at quarterback on a very ugly slate.
Honorable Mention: Davis Mills (HOU) $5,400 @ JAX
FanDuel
Jimmy Garoppolo (SF) $6,700 @ ATL
The three teams worse than the Falcons in pass defense have a total of six wins between them; the Lions, the Jags and the Jets. The Falcons are also one of the most blitz-centric defenses in the league. In fact, they are in the top seven in total number of blitzes on the season (per FTNfantasy.com). On the flip side, Garoppolo is top five in completion percentage when facing a blitz, and nearly half of his 12 touchdown passes have come against the blitz.
Honorable Mention: Tyler Huntley (BAL) $6,400 vs. GB
Running Back
DraftKings
James Robinson (JAX) $5,400 vs. HOU
If you have been living under a rock, former Jags head coach Urban Meyer was shown the door this week. This Jags offense had no identity under Meyer. One week they’d give Robinsons a huge workload only to barely use him in the next game. I’d expect that to change under interim head coach Darrell Bevell. Bevell has always used a run-heavy scheme, and traditionally leaned on one running back — good news for Robinson. Some more good news for Robinson is that he gets to face the 28th run defense in the Houston Texans that just gave up 137 yards and two touchdowns to Rashaad Penny.
Honorable Mention: A.J. Dillon (GB) $5,700 @ BAL
FanDuel
Chuba Hubbard (CAR) $6,000 @ BUF
If we exclude the Saints game when they had Trevor Siemian under center and could not get anything going on offense, here are the running back stats lines over the last four weeks;
- Leonard Fournette 19 car 119 yds 1 TD
- Damian Harris 10 car 111 yds 1 TD
- Rhamondre Stevenson 24 car 78 yds
- Jonathan Taylor 32 car 185 yds 4 TDs, 1 rec TD
That equates to 28 carries, 164 yards, and two touchdowns on average over three games. For those not good a math, simply put…that’s not good. There are a lot of good value running backs this week with all the Covid cases and injuries, and Hubbard won’t be the most popular choice by far, but with low ownership, if Hubbard ended up dollar-for-dollar the best $6k-and-under running back this week, I would not be surprised.
Honorable Mention: James Robinson (JAX) $6,300 vs. HOU
Wide Receiver
DraftKings
DeVante Parker (MIA) $4,300 vs. NYJ
Be sure to check the status of Jaylen Waddle on Sunday, but as of now, it looks like Waddle will be out as he was placed on the Covid list late in the week. If that is indeed the case, then Parker becomes one of the chalk receivers on the slate. At $4,300, against the worst pass defense based on DVOA, he is a free square.
Amon-Ra St. Brown (DET) $5,200 vs. ARI
Don’t look now, but St. Brown has turned into a target monster for a talent-needy Lions team. He has 12 targets in each of his last two games, and of those 24 targets, he has caught 18 for 159 yards and one touchdown. The Cardinals are a tough defense across the board, but one position they have struggled with is the slot receiver, where St. Brown plays 68-percent of his snaps (per PlayerProfiler.com).
Honorable Mention: Gabriel Davis (BUF) $3,700 vs. CAR
FanDuel
Robby Anderson (CAR) $5,800 @ BUF
This may be the fourth time this season I’ve tried going to the Robby Anderson well, and the last three times it came up dry as a bone. But, here we are again. Coming off his best game of the season catching seven for 84 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets, Anderson could enter this game as the de facto No. 1 wide receiver as teammate D.J. Moore has not been limited in practice all week. Even if Moore suits up, Anderson should get a good share of targets in a positive game script.
Gabriel Davis (BUF) $4,900 vs. CAR
I could give some hard-hitting analysis on why Davis is a great play, but FantasyPros’ own Kyle Yates already said it as well as it could be said;
Tight End
DraftKings
James O’Shaughnessy (JAX) $3,200 vs. HOU
The tight end position is a S— Show this week. So much so, that I don’t really know who my highest owned tight end will be this week. However, if you’re looking for a cheap option, O’Shaughnessy is your guy. He played 73 percent of the snaps last week and received six targets. No, he didn’t do much with them only catching four for 21 yards, but as I said, tight end this week is a S— Show.
