Greetings, friends, and welcome to Week 13 of our Main Slate GPP Advice series. As always, we’ll be focused on GPP contests and players you can use to fill out your lineups while saving some of your budget. Let’s take a look at some of my favorite GPP targets for this week.
GPP means we are going to look for value and take big swings. You shouldn’t have every player below in your DFS lineups. These are players with upside to target so that you can save money to use on higher-priced studs. We are going to identify value. We are going to monitor injury situations. We are going to take some risks. And most importantly, we are going to make some money.
As a general reminder, these are how most FanDuel and DraftKings contests are formatted:
- FanDuel $60,000 salary cap, 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 DEF ($6,667 average price per position)
- DraftKings: $50,000 salary cap, 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 DEF ($5,555 average price per position)

The players below are ones I’m looking at for large-field tournament considerations for Week 13 main slates:
Quarterbacks
FanDuel
Lamar Jackson (BAL - QB) : $8,500 vs. PIT
Lamar Jackson is the most expensive quarterback on FanDuel this week, but he's also projected to score the most points. That isn't on par with my usual lower rostership% advice in this space, but $8,500 isn't a prohibitive price to pay for Jackson's production, especially if you stack him with a couple of the more affordable position players we talk about below.
Jalen Hurts (PHI - QB): $8,000 vs. NYJ
Officially, Jalen Hurts is questionable with an ankle injury that he suffered last week against the Giants. But Hurts said this week that he's playing, and most reports expect him to get the start. Now, with the ankle injury, he may not be as mobile and/or Nick Sirianni may not dial up as many runs for Hurts. That hurts (no pun intended) his floor because the rushing numbers could be lower than usual. But I'm expecting Hurts to come out throwing in this one and bounce back from what was the worst performance of his young career in last week's loss to the New York Giants. The Eagles' offense may not be very good, but the Jets are all caps BAD, and I think we're going to see big offensive numbers from Philadelphia and their second-year quarterback. For GPP, the ankle injury will scare away many DFS players. Hurts' roster% should be on the low side.
DraftKings
Derek Carr (LV - QB): $6,000 vs. WAS
The Washington Football Team, while they have been playing better of late, has allowed a ton of points to opposing quarterbacks this season. Derek Carr completed 24 of his 39 pass attempts for 373 yards in Week 12 against the Cowboys. Carr has finished as a QB1 in more than half of his games this season, and I'm banking on QB1 production again in this one despite his QB14 overall price tag on DraftKings.
Tua Tagovailoa (MIA - QB) : $5,500 vs. NYG
The Giants pressured Jalen Hurts last week and ended up intercepting three passes. I'm not anticipating a repeat performance against Tua and the Dolphins. Tua has been hot of late but is only priced as the QB17 on the DraftKings main slate. I have him projected as a QB1, especially since the Giants are starting Mike Glennon at quarterback and may be handing over some decent field position on a regular basis on Sunday.
Running Backs
FanDuel
Jamaal Williams (DET - RB): $6,500 vs. MIN
D'Andre Swift hasn't yet been officially ruled out for Week 13, but there are already reports that he could miss multiple games. That uncertainty, especially earlier in the week, is why Jamaal Williams is the 21st most expensive running back on FanDuel. With Swift out, Williams enters the RB1 conversation in a Week 13 matchup against the Vikings. He received 20 touches in Week 12 and should be in line for a similar workload in Week 13.
Antonio Gibson (WAS - RB): $6,200 vs. LV
Antonio Gibson is priced as the RB22 on FanDuel this week, and he hasn't finished that low since before Washington's bye week. He has looked like a different player since that bye week, perhaps because he was able to take a couple of weeks to let the stress fracture in his shin heal a little bit. He is still dealing with that injury and likely will for the entire season, but he doesn't carry an injury designation heading into this week's matchup against the Raiders.
DraftKings
Elijah Mitchell (SF - RB): $6,200 vs. SEA
Elijah Mitchell received 27 carries and five receptions in Week 12 and finished as the RB4 overall, but he's priced as the RB18 against the Seahawks in Week 13. I have him projected for another Top 5 finish among running backs, so this appears to be a significant discount on DraftKings.
Antonio Gibson (WAS - RB): $5,700 vs. LV
See above. Gibson is a value on DraftKings this week, as well. He's priced at RB17 on DraftKings as compared to RB22 on FanDuel, but I have him projected mid-RB1.
Wide Receivers
FanDuel
Jaylen Waddle (MIA - WR): $6,900 vs. NYG
The Jaylen Waddle connection with Tua Tagovailoa is real. We talked about Waddle last week, too. He has received at least nine targets in four of his last five games, and he finished as the WR2 overall last week. Still, he's priced as WR21 on FanDuel this week against the Giants. The Giants' defense played well against the Eagles last week, but that seemed to have more to do with incompetence on the side of the Eagles than anything the Giants were doing. Either way, Waddle, who has scored touchdowns in consecutive weeks, should see a steady stream of targets this week.
DeVonta Smith (PHI - WR): $6,300 vs. NYJ
I'll be stacking Jalen Hurts and Devonta Smith in at least a couple of contests this weekend because I think the Eagles are going to dial up a number of plays for Smith after a down game against the Giants. Smith only caught two passes for 22 yards on Sunday, both his lowest total in that category over the last month. Smith is a bargain at $6,300 this week, which is good for WR27 on FanDuel.
DraftKings
Brandon Aiyuk (SF - WR): $5,600 vs. SEA
Deebo Samuel is out (at least for this week), and Brandon Aiyuk is in. Aiyuk should see additional opportunities, and he's priced perfectly on DraftKings for GPP payers at $5,600, good for WR24.
Hunter Renfrow (LV - WR): $5,800 vs. WAS
Hunter Renfrow is fresh off of an eight-catch, 134-yard performance against the Cowboys. He has received at least eight targets in six of his last eight games and finished as the WR9 overall in Week 12. Despite that performance, his price only went up by $200 on DraftKings. He isn't going to put up 134 yards receiving every week, but he is trending in the right direction in this Las Vegas offense.
Tight Ends
FanDuel
Pat Freiermuth (PIT - TE): $5,400 vs. BAL
Since Pittsburgh's Week 7 bye week, Pat Freiermuth has finished as a TE1 in four of his five games while scoring five touchdowns. He is recovering from a concussion but was already a full participant in practice on Wednesday, which is a great sign for his availability. He's priced as the TE16 on FanDuel this week but should once again put up TE1 numbers against the Ravens at home.
DraftKings
George Kittle (SF - TE) : $5,900 vs. SEA
The TE4 in terms of price isn't often the focus of a price exploitation, but it can be when the TE1 overall is going for $1,400 more. George Kittle caught just one of his two targets for 13 yards last week, but he was coming off of three TE1 performances and a touchdown in three consecutive games. He should bounce back with a decent matchup against the Seahawks on the road.
Defense/Special Teams
FanDuel
Miami Dolphins (MIA - DST): $4,000 vs. NYG
Not only do the Dolphins get a favorable matchup in the Giants, but now they get to face Mike Glennon at quarterback instead of Daniel Jones. I don't usually dig too deep for defenses on DFS because the discount isn't typically worth it. But for this one, the Dolphins are the 10th most expensive option but are projected to score the second-most points. Giants wide receivers Kadarius Toney and Sterling Shepard are both listed as doubtful for the game, so the Dolphins won't have to worry about either of those players.
DraftKings
Minnesota Vikings (MIN - DST): $3,200 vs. DET
I could have listed the Dolphins twice here because I love that matchup on both sites, but I'll leave the Dolphins as a recommendation above and talk a bit about the Vikings. The Vikings get to face the Lions this week but are the 8th most expensive DST option. Minnesota has allowed at least 31 points to opposing teams in three of their last four games, but that trend isn't likely to continue in Detroit on Sunday.
