Kyle Yates’ Last-Minute Week 14 Cheat Sheet (2021 Fantasy Football)

We’ve got some fantastic matchups on the tv this weekend! Are you ready for them?

I’m here with my quick-hitting thoughts to help you get ready for your fantasy matchups heading into week 14! If you’d like a little bit more in-depth studying, you can also find my weekly rankings here or my in-depth player notes can be found in The Primer moving forward.

Here are some last-minute quick-hit items designed to help you live your best fantasy life in Week 14.

5 Players I Like More Than ECR

Antonio Gibson: Gibson’s matchup isn’t exactly a cakewalk, but he’s seeing way too much volume to not view as a top-5 play. He’s RB3 in my rankings and RB6 in ECR.

Melvin Gordon: Gordon’s ranking is currently in limbo as we await word on whether or not he’ll play this week. If he does play, I’m likely to remain higher than him than the consensus as I doubt that the Broncos are going to completely turn things over to Javonte Williams. Gordon’s currently RB26 in ECR and RB22 in my rankings.

Hunter Renfrow: Renfrow’s been getting the job done recently and he’s seeing a ton of targets. Without Darren Waller – most likely – on Sunday, he should continue to see ridiculous volume. He’s WR15 in my rankings and WR19 in ECR.

Jamison Crowder: Do I feel good about being higher on Crowder than ECR? No. However, if Elijah Moore misses this game the targets have to go somewhere, right? He’s WR39 in ECR and WR32 in my rankings.

Foster Moreau: Fantasy managers got “burned” by playing Moreau last week, but he was extremely close to reeling in a touchdown grab that would have changed our perceptions of him. With Waller likely out again this week, Moreau should be viewed as a solid play. He’s TE13 in my rankings and TE18 in ECR.

5 Players I Like Less Than ECR

Aaron Jones: Jones is reportedly now going to be locked into a 1a/1b split with AJ Dillon in this backfield, which has me concerned about his overall upside. He’s RB12 in ECR and RB15 in my rankings.

Saquon Barkley: I faded Barkley last week and it certainly worked out. This offense is doing next to nothing here recently and Barkley’s efficiency has plummeted. Even in a great matchup, I’m fading Barkley until I see it happen on the field. He’s RB15 in ECR and RB17 in my rankings currently.

Terry McLaurin: McLaurin has been a bit of a disappointment recently and he’s not producing like the borderline WR1 we thought he could be coming into the year. He’s WR12 in ECR and WR17 in my rankings.

Courtland Sutton: I’m apparently just going to copy and paste Sutton’s writeup in this section each week moving forward. He’s WR33 in ECR and WR40 in my rankings.

Tom Brady: Brady’s been stellar for fantasy recently, but he has a tougher matchup here this week against Buffalo’s defense. The top-3 upside might not be there and that leads me to rank him at QB8 versus his QB5 ECR.

Desperation Pickups

Jamison Crowder: As mentioned earlier, with Moore likely out this week and Corey Davis on IR, Crowder should soak up targets in a favorable matchup. He’s 22% rostered in Yahoo leagues.

Jalen Guyton: Guyton’s unlikely to see his role change if Keenan Allen and Mike Williams both miss this game, but he should see a bit of an uptick in downfield targets. As a boom-or-bust option for your lineup, he has some appeal.

Josh Palmer: Palmer should step in as the slot receiver in this offense in Allen’s absence and he’s only 1% rostered in Yahoo leagues.

Foster Moreau: Moreau’s a solid fill-in option this week if Waller misses another game.

Ricky Seals-Jones: It’s unclear at the time of writing if RSJ is going to be able to play this week, but he does have some streaming appeal if he’s good to go.

Rashaad Penny: It’s not a pretty option, but it seems unlikely that Adrian Peterson is going to be even active this week for Seattle. Penny and Alex Collins should see plenty of work in a dream matchup.

5 Receiver/Cornerback Matchups to Watch

DeAndre Hopkins/Jalen Ramsey: This is must-watch tv every time it happens.

Cooper Kupp/Byron Murphy: Murphy’s played well this year, but can he slow down Kupp?

Amon-Ra St. Brown/Kyle Fuller: Fuller’s still learning how to play the slot and St. Brown’s coming off of a good game.

Chris Godwin/Taron Johnson: Godwin’s arguably the best slot receiver in the NFL and Johnson’s arguably the best slot corner in the NFL. Should be fun to watch.

Ja’Marr Chase/Josh Norman: Assuming that Joe Burrow‘s hand is all good, Chase is going to put together a solid performance.
