Running Back

Rashaad Penny (RB – SEA): 19% rostered
The former first-round pick had a career-best day in Week 14, rushing 16 times for 137 yards and two touchdowns against the Texans. Penny also caught one pass for a gain of one. He out-carried Alex Collins 16-7 and was wildly more efficient with his touches, which Pete Carroll said reminded him how explosive of a runner Penny is. Penny has brutally disappointed fantasy players in the past, but as of now he looks like a potential RB2 in Week 15 against the Rams.

Ty Johnson (RB – NYJ): 29% rostered
With Tevin Coleman and Michael Carter both sidelined, Johnson saw six carries and seven targets against the Saints in Week 14. That’s enough usage to be on the RB3/4 borderline in full-PPR leagues. New York faces the Miami Dolphins in Week 15.

Boston Scott (RB – PHI): 22% rostered
The 26-year-old didn’t play in Week 13 due to a non-COVID illness and the Eagles had a bye in Week 14. The last time Philadelphia played, however, Miles Sanders suffered an ankle injury and Jordan Howard was nursing a knee injury. It’s unclear what their timelines are moving forward, but Scott is at least worth rostering until we hear more. He would be a plug-and-play RB2 against Washington in Week 15 if B.T. Sanders and Howard are unable to go.

Rex Burkhead (RB – HOU): 15% rostered
David Johnson was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Sunday morning, which left Burkhead and Royce Freeman to handle backfield duties against the Seahawks. Each RB saw 11 carries, but Burkhead out-gained Freeman 40 to 15. The 31-year-old is an uninspiring floor play, but he could function as a RB3 next Sunday against the Jaguars if Johnson is once again sidelined. However, Burkhead also suffered an injury of his own. This makes Freeman at least worth monitoring, as he could handle a majority of backfield touches should Johnson and Burkhead be forced to miss time.

Wide Receiver

Rashod Bateman (WR – BAL): 36% rostered
The rookie re-emerged as a potential fantasy factor in Week 14. He made several impressive catches on throws from Tyler Huntley, who was in for the majority of Sunday’s game against the Browns. Bateman totaled seven receptions for 103 scoreless yards (on eight targets). It was a positive development after he was given five combined targets in Weeks 12-13. Consider him a potential WR3 in Week 15 against the Packers.

Kendrick Bourne (WR – NE): 30% rostered
The Patriots were on a bye in Week 14, but this is your reminder that Bourne has been incredibly efficient for New England this year. He didn’t factor into the Week 13 snowstorm against the Bills, but the weather conditions in that one were extreme enough that we can ignore it. Bourne had caught at least four passes in 5-of-6 games before it, though. For the season he has hauled in 42-of-53 targets for 623 yards and five touchdowns. He’s more of a floor play in deeper PPR leagues.

Kadarius Toney (WR – NYG): 28% rostered
The rookie didn’t play in Week 14 due to injury. Toney’s season hasn’t gone as many hoped it would after he erupted for 189 yards in Week 5. Injuries and poor quarterback play have been the primary issues, and not necessarily talent. He’s impossible to trust entering Week 15, but fantasy players needing a playoff miracle should at least monitor his health over the next couple of weeks.

Tight End

Austin Hooper (TE – CLE): 41% rostered
DFS players who were looking to punt at tight end in Week 14 were saved by Hooper, who hauled in 5-of-7 targets for 30 yards and a touchdown. His target share outlook was aided by the absences of David Njoku and Harrison Bryant, so those situations will be important to pay attention to throughout the week. If one or both tight ends are out again in Week 15, then Hooper could have a second straight usable performance for TE streamers.

Quarterback

Tua Tagovailoa (QB – MIA): 31% rostered
There could be a lot of fantasy teams seeking a Lamar Jackson replacement in Week 15. Enter Tagovailoa, who was on a bye in Week 14 but draws the lifeless Jets next Sunday. The sophomore southpaw hasn’t transformed a star player this season, but he has been an extremely accurate quarterback during Miami’s recent hot streak. The Dolphins are utilizing a plethora of play action and RPOs, and it’s helping. His accuracy and plus matchup give him a strong floor for QB streamers.
