Running Back
Boston Scott (RB – PHI): 41% rostered
Scott might’ve upset fantasy managers on Sunday as he was active but not playing. For context, he didn’t practice all week due to a non-COVID illness and was only going to be used in an emergency situation. Well, Miles Sanders piled up 27 touches before departing with an ankle injury. As of this writing it’s unclear if he’ll be ready for Week 15 against Washington. If he isn’t, then Scott will be worth adding. Note that the Eagles have a bye next weekend.
Tevin Coleman (RB – NYJ): 41% rostered
Just like with Scott, we’re cheating with Coleman’s rostership. However, the pickings are mighty slim this week. In other words, this isn’t the week to be spending a lot of FAB. Coleman’s role on the Jets has some fantasy viability as he ran 11 times for 58 yards on Sunday against the Eagles. He also hauled in 3-of-4 targets for an additional 19 yards through the air. The 11 carries might not seem like a lot, but it’s more important when you realize Ty Johnson received just one. Coleman will remain the Jets’ early-down grinder for as long as Michael Carter (ankle) is sidelined. The Saints are on deck in Week 14.
Matt Breida (RB – BUF): 41% rostered
We covered Breida last weekend and the Bills have to play in Week 13, so I’ll keep this one brief. Essentially, he has overtaken Zack Moss‘ playing time and is operating as a change-of-pace option in Buffalo’s backfield. Devin Singletary was given more playing time in Week 12, but Breida did more with his touches. He’s at least worth stashing until we see how the utilization shakes out moving forward.
Wide Receiver
Jamison Crowder (WR – NYJ): 21% rostered
New York’s veteran slot receiver saw just one target in a plus Week 12 matchup against the Texans. He returned to form on Sunday against the Eagles, hauling in 4-of-6 targets for 62 yards. Aside from the disaster against Houston, Crowder has seen at least five targets in every other game he has played this year. There isn’t a lot of upside to be had for a player with a low ADOT in a bad offense, but those in deep leagues with full-PPR scoring could do worse if seeking a depth piece.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling (WR – GB): 18% rostered
The Packers had a Week 13 bye, but it’s hard to ignore MVS’ usage from Weeks 11-12. Valdes-Scantling saw 19 targets in those two games. While he wasn’t particularly efficient and caught just eight of them, his high ADOT leads to big yardage when he connects with Aaron Rodgers. Consistently seeing deep throws from Rodgers is enough to make him worthy of being an upside WR4 in deeper leagues.
Tight End
There are no tight ends in the 30% rostership range to recommend this week. Cole Kmet has seen 18 targets over his past two games, for those who are desperate for a streamer.
Quarterback
Taysom Hill (QB – NO): 34% rostered
New Orleans’ starting quarterback played through a finger injury on Thursday and threw four interceptions. Incredibly, he still had a usable fantasy performance thanks to rushing 11 times for 101 yards. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Hill is dealing with a mallet finger, which is part of what affected Russell Wilson earlier this season. However, it isn’t as severe of an injury and he’ll try to play through it. Hill’s rushing upside is what makes him a viable fantasy streamer. The Jets are on deck in Week 14.
