Week 10 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Rankings

Waiver Wire Rankings powered by FantasyProsECR ™ – Expert Consensus Rankings

Q1. Who is your top waiver wire option of the week, and why?

Brandon Aiyuk. He’s not the clear-cut top pickup for me this week, but he’s certainly been showing his upside. Over the last two weeks, he’s essentially matched the production of his first five games. It’s difficult to see Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle all going off each week, but Aiyuk is trending in the direction of becoming a weekly WR3. That’s especially true given that his touchdown catch was contested, which should give Jimmy Garoppolo confidence in targeting him more in the end zone.

Brandon Aiyuk has been an absolute disappointment thus far in 2021. However, there have been signs of life lately for Aiyuk, and he hauled in his first TD since Week 3 and has 15 targets in his last two games. The 49ers get the Rams next week, and in theory, Jalen Ramsey should be all over Deebo Samuel. Samuel’s recent health concerns coupled with the cornerback matchup means Aiyuk’s upward momentum could continue.

Rhamondre Stevenson is one of the few worthwhile additions in an otherwise ugly week for waiver claims. It’s worth taking a shot on a running back with the potential to be an impactful contributor. A human bowling ball, Stevenson has looked terrific the least three weeks as a runner and pass catcher, and it’s worth remembering that he had five TDs in three preseason games. He and Damien Harris both sustained concussions Sunday, so you’ll have to monitor their status and adjust your FAB bid accordingly, but Stevenson is well worth a flyer for anyone in need of RB help.

Q2. Which high-end waiver wire option for Week 10 was the most difficult to rank?

Rhamondre Stevenson. Steven got 12 touches against the Panthers and looked far more effective than Damien Harris, even if the latter scored a touchdown. But he’s not that far from a point where he was a healthy scratch by the Patriots. There’s a plausible path for Stevenson carving out a regular flex role, or more if Harris were to miss time, but he also may be entirely irrelevant from a fantasy perspective. And that’s to say nothing of the fact that both he and Harris left Week 9 with head injuries, further making it difficult to know how to prioritize Stevenson.

Jets WR Elijah Moore has plates with three different QBs in three weeks. The further they fall down the QB depth chart, the better Moore seems to be producing. That’s what makes Moore such a tough asset to gauge. Is the rookie just finding his confidence as the season progresses, or is he a fluke that could disappear when Zach Wilson eventually returns? I would bid on the talent, but he’s far from a lock.

Jordan Howard. I had to hold my nose when ranking him as the fifth-best waiver addition for the week, but you could make the case that he should be ranked even higher. Howard is a one-dimensional plodder, yet he’s scored three touchdowns over the last week, and he’s the only running back the Eagles have given steady usage in the running game this season.

Q3. For managers renting a D/ST in Week 10, what readily available option (under 40%) should they target?

It’s time we give the Tennessee Titans D/ST the credit it deserves. Three straight double-digit fantasy performances and four out of five. Six consecutive games with at least one interception. Multiple sacks in four of its last five games. There aren’t a lot of superstars on the defensive side of the ball, but they’re scoring plenty of points. Against Jacksonville next week, it should be more of the same.
– Dan Harris (@danharris80)

The Tennessee Titans D/ST had 19 sacks all of 2020. In 2021, the Titans already have 23 and have looked like a far better unit over the last few weeks. They face New Orleans this week, who have a QB situation in flux. This could be an outstanding matchup for the Titans’ D in terms of sacks and turnovers.
– Joe Pisapia (@JoePisapia17)

The Tennessee Titans D/ST are an easy choice. They have a top-10 defense in fantasy scoring and face a popgun Saints offense that has Trevor Siemian (or possibly Taysom Hill) at quarterback.

Notable Week 10 Waiver Wire FAB Recommendations (in %)

Q4. Which Week 10 waiver wire option carries the biggest risk of being a waste of FAB dollars?

Jordan Howard. I mean, it's Jordan Howard. Yes, he has three touchdowns over his last two games and got the lion's share of the work against the Chargers. But even if you're just aiming for one more week with Miles Sanders eligible to return from IR shortly, would it surprise anyone to see Howard put up a 10-carry, 20-yard day against the Broncos? That's especially true because Howard's conditioning likely isn't fully there yet, and the Eagles will be in the thin air of Denver. Howard should be added, but might be a waste.

James Robinson may be back by Sunday, which means Carlos Hyde would immediately return to fantasy irrelevance. Hyde was uninspiring Sunday versus the Bills in a slog of a game. I would rather spend on veterans like Le'Veon Bell or Jordan Howard over Hyde.
- Joe Pisapia (@JoePisapia17)

Carlos Hyde. With James Robinson out with a heel injury in Week 9. Robinson had 21 carries for 67 yards. If Robinson is back for Week 10, Hyde loses nearly all of his fantasy value. If Robinson misses another game, Hyde is guaranteed another hefty workload this week, albeit against a tough Colts run defense.
