Deebo Samuel (calf) questionable for Sunday; injury is ‘worse this week’
49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who is listed as questionable for Week 9 with a calf issue, might not be trending in the right direction. The star receiver’s issue “is worse this week,” per head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Fantasy Impact:
While Samuel wants to suit up, the next two days will be pivotal in determining his Week 9 status. The 25-year-old has totaled a whopping 819 yards and four touchdowns in 2021. If he does play, fantasy managers can deploy him as a WR1.

Deebo has commanded a massive 34% target share this season, but George Kittle’s anticipated return from a calf injury could siphon away a small handful of Samuel’s targets. No matter. Samuel’s fantasy value is unlikely to be diminished by Kittle’s presence. Deebo is the WR4 this week. His DraftKings price of $7,800 isn’t outrageous, but there are better buys among the Gucci-brand wide receivers.
