Week 6 of the NFL season has arrived, which means the 2021 season has reached a 1/3 of its regular-season life cycle. Injuries are running rampant and dominating the waiver wire is as important as ever. With that in mind, understanding key matchups with players poised for breakout games can give you an edge if you are hindered by injuries and bye weeks.
If your team is not panning out the way you hope, the time is now to do whatever it takes to win your matchup and turn your season around, even if that means taking a risk or a gamble in high-upside players.

Week 6 Bold Predictions
Javonte Williams (RB – DEN) finishes with 20 or more fantasy points
With Melvin Gordon banged up all week with an injury, Williams could be in a prime position to handle the majority of the backfield duties this weekend in a favorable matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Williams has been extremely efficient with limited opportunities, but if Gordon is limited in any capacity on Sunday, the Broncos will lean on Williams in the run game. Williams has a great chance to fully break against a division rival.
Jakobi Meyers (WR – NE) scores his first career receiving touchdown, and then scores another one
Jakobi Meyers is the top target hog for the Patriots, yet he has not found the end zone in his short career. This changes this weekend when Meyers finds the end zone not once, but twice to secure his first career receiving touchdowns. Meyers can be trusted in lineups regardless of if he scores a touchdown or note due to his high target volume, but this week Meyers will find pay dirt and fantasy managers will rejoice.
Joe Burrow (QB – CIN) is a top-5 QB
Joe Burrow’s comeback from an ACL injury last season has been a fascinating sight to witness. Burrow is presented with a great matchup this week against a depleted and vulnerable Detroit Lions defense. Burrow has some of the best weapons in the league and will look to lean on Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd in hopes to beat the Lions and continue their impressive start. Burrow is a QB1 this week with top-5 upside as the Bengals passing attack will dominate and control the flow of the game.
Conclusion
Most managers are dealing with an influx of problems but wallowing in fantasy pity only leads to more pain. Be proactive on the waiver wire and understand your best matchups to execute the most optimal lineup. Trust yourself, trust your gut, and win your week.
