Cordarrelle Patterson (WR/RB – ATL): 77.5 rushing + receiving yards
Cordarrelle Patterson has been excellent this season. Functioning as the Atlanta Falcons swiss army knife, Patterson has picked it up as of late, averaging 102 yards from scrimmage or more in each of last three games. Calvin Ridley is back to take some of the focus off Patterson, and Miami is going to have to concern themselves with containing Kyle Pitts as well. Despite strong individual talents on that side of the ball, Miami has been struggling on defense, partially due to injuries and possibly correlated to giving up locker room leader Kyle Van Noy this offseason. Miami has relinquished 112.8 rushing yards per game and six receptions for 45.7 receiving yards per game to enemy running backs. And since Patterson is still more wide receiver than running back despite where he takes the bulk of his snaps, it is important to note that Miami has allowed 15 receptions for 210 receiving yards per game to the wide receiver position. Patterson should be good for the over on this total at Underdog Fantasy regardless of gamescript. He should be a value up to 78.5 yards from scrimmage. Lock in the over.
Pick: Over
Chuba Hubbard (RB – CAR): 74.5 rushing yards
Christian McCaffrey is injured again, and that means another start for Canadian running back Chuba Hubbard. Hubbard has been inconsistent for the Panthers since stepping up as the spot starter, rushing for under 75 yards in three of four starts. Based on that raw metric, Hubbard would be an under play for Week 7. However, Hubbard is expected to see a high volume in what should be a win against a depleted New York Giants team. The last time he saw more than 17 carries, he rushed for 101 yards on 24 attempts in a close loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He will be facing a Giants team that has surrendered 122.5 rushing yards per game to the running back position, giving him plenty of room to work with as far as this pick ’em total is concerned. While not an exceptional value, Hubbard over is still one of the best values on the board in a week without many. Tap the over for Hubbard for Week 7 at Underdog Fantasy.|
Pick: Over
Darnell Mooney (WR – CHI): 51.5 rushing yards
Darnell Mooney is a boom or bust play in both fantasy and for this pick ’em game. Mooney has crossed the 52 receiving yard barrier just once since Fields took over. However, in that one game, he exploded with five receptions for 125 receiving yards. Mooney is averaging six targets per game over the last three contests, leading the team with a 32.3 percent target share. His 33.3 percent of the air yards trails only Allen Robinson‘s 37.1 percent. Mooney is functioning as more than just a deep threat as his average depth of target has been only 11.1 yards down the field. With that said, he is just one splash play away from crossing the 52 receiving yard barrier. Justin Fields has been showing signs of improvement and will get to test a banged-up Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback group. Tampa Bay has surrendered 15.2 receptions for 185 receiving yards per game to the wide receiver position and have had trouble containing speedy wideouts. While not a lock by any means, Mooney over is one of the top values on the board for Week 7 and should be strongly considered for your pick ’em card for Week 7.
Pick: Over
Leonard Fournette (RB – TB): 64.5 rushing yards
Leonard Fournette has been excellent for the Buccaneers in 2021. He has taken over as the featured back, leaving Ronald Jones to a sporadic breather back role. This is one of the best values on the board for Week 7 due to the rather low rushing yard number. Perhaps, the thought is Jones can get hot at any time and limit Fournette’s touches, but we have seen enough of Jones to know that he is more of a splash play back than someone who can excel enough on limited carries to wrestle the job from Lenny. Fournette has put up 67 or more rushing yards in each of last three games and has more than 20 carries in two of last three. The Buccaneers are obviously large favorites (13 points) against the Chicago Bears, signaling that there should be plenty of rushing opportunities for the Bucs lead back. And against a Bears team that has surrendered 98.5 rushing yards per game to the running back position (11th most in the league), Fournette is an easy over play for Week 7 at Underdog Fantasy.
