Underdog Fantasy Week 5 Pick ‘Em Values

Underdog Fantasy Week 5 Pick ‘Em Values

Underdog Fantasy. By now, most of you know that Underdog has some incredible season-long best ball tournaments and weekly Battle Royale contests. However, they have another contest that will prove to have tremendous appeal to fantasy managers-their Pick ‘Em game. Simply choose two or more fantasy points, yardage, or reception totals, choose over or under, and lock in your prediction. Pick any 2-5 player props to parlay together, and you can win up to 20X on your entry in one night!

There is also a head-to-head Rivals contest. Pick which player between the two of them will have more of a given stat in their game; some players will be given a line handicap, indicated by the + and number below their picture.

There is a ton of value to be had here for fantasy managers as we already familiarize ourselves with important information like depth charts, injuries, yards allowed, fantasy points allowed, and more. This gives us a potential competitive advantage when it comes to identifying and tackling potential values. While more than a few totals will appeal to fantasy managers for Week 5 at Underdog, we will briefly discuss five that have more allure than most.

Cordarrelle Patterson (WR/RB – ATL): 74.5 rushing plus receiving yards
Cordarrelle Patterson is about to become the Rob Van Dam of the Atlanta Falcons offense. Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage have both been ruled out of this weekend’s contest in London, setting Patterson up to see a season-high in snaps. Patterson has been excellent for Atlanta this season. He has averaged 58.8 receiving yards per game and 29.8 rushing yards per game while operating primarily as a running back. He has taken snaps outside as well and has been more effective as a receiving option. Patterson has really turned it on as a receiver over the last two weeks, recording exactly 82 receiving yards against the New York Giants and Washington. His rushing production is more spotty, but he is seeing about seven carries per game and recorded over five yards per carry in two of those contests while flying under three in the other two. The 74.5 line at Underdog immediately stood out as a value, and nothing in our analysis changed our mind. The only risk here is Atlanta deciding to play him as a wide receiver rather than a running back who sees shorter targets while sometimes splitting out wide. Exploiting the matchup advantages lining him up as a running back creates will be to keeping him productive despite the inevitable extra defensive attention he will receive with Ridley sidelined.
Pick: Over

Leonard Fournette (WR – TB): 61.5 rushing yards
Leonard Fournette has been operating as the lead back all season, at least in terms of touches, but may have moved into featured back territory in Week 4. He looked like the early-career version of himself and rode a high volume outing to 92 rushing yards and 47 receiving yards. Head coach Bruce Arians may finally be ready to give his volume back volume, and that means value for Week 5 at Underdog Fantasy. Fournette saw 82 percent of the snaps last week and should see a similar workload against a Miami Dolphins defense that has allowed a 100 rushing yard performance in three of the four weeks this season while allowing 82 rushing yards to Devin Singletary (a committee back) in the other. Fournette should easily eclipse 62 rushing yards if he can avoid fumbling his way to Arians dog house. Tap the over for Fournette for Week 5.
Pick: Over

A.J. Brown (WR – TEN): 67.5 receiving yards
A.J. Brown is back for the Tennessee Titans. He is set to dominate the high-value targets for Ryan Tannehill and should have the opportunity for a couple of chunk plays. Brown is a risky play when Julio Jones is healthy as Tannehill cannot consistently support two receivers in the Titans offense. However, with the future Hall of Famer sidelined with a hamstring injury, Brown should revert to being the apple of his quarterback’s eye. Brown should have a field day against a soft Jaguars secondary that has allowed five different receivers to drop at least 104 receiving yards on them. With a tremendous matchup on tap, lock Brown is one of your pick em plays for Week 5.
Pick: Over

Emmanuel Sanders (WR – BUF): 51.5 receiving yards
Sanders has been clicking with Josh Allen over the past two weeks, averaging five receptions, 84 receiving yards, and a touchdown. The 51.5 total would be a value regardless of opponent, but with a potential shootout with the Kansas City Chiefs on tap for Week 5, he is a glaring value. The Chiefs have allowed five different receivers to record at least 69 receiving yards on them, and this is despite facing three of the more run heavy teams in the league. Sanders has seen 26.8 percent of the team’s air yards over the past two weeks, a sign that he should see an average depth of target far enough downfield to make the 52 receiving yards total relatively easy to surpass if he can avoid costly drops. Roll with Sanders for Week 5 at Underdog Fantasy.
Pick: Over

Quintez Cephus (WR – DET): 41.5 receiving yards
Quintez Cephus. Cephus has been the Lions most consistent receiver this season, something that should continue even when Tyrell Williams returns to the lineup. Remember, this is the same receiver that Lions 2020 1st round pick Jeff Okudah singled out as the toughest receiver he faced in college. The second year wideout has quickly become a favorite of Jared Goff, and we all know that Goff will feed his top targets. They now appear to be T.J. Hockenson, D’Andre Swift, and Cephus. Cephus has alternated good games with bad games but has seen six targets in three of four contests and is getting some high-value targets from Goff. He is coming off of an 83 receiving yard performance and recorded 63 back in Week 2. He combined for just 20 receiving yards in the other two contests. The Lions get Minnesota in Week 5, a team that has already surrendered three 100 receiving yard days to enemy wideouts. Punch in the over for Cephus for Week 5.
Pick: Over
