NFL GPP Lineup Advice: Week 5 (Full Slate)

If there was ever a week to play the NFL full slate, it’s Week 5. There are four island games, including one across the pond early Sunday morning and the usual Thursday, Sunday, and Monday night matchups. Those four games include the week’s two highest Vegas totals,  with the Rams/Seahawks on Thursday and the Bills/Chiefs on Sunday night.

Many of my GPP options come from those potential shootouts. They will be popular in full-slate GPP lineups, so be sure to differentiate your lineup at another position or by stacking a quarterback with a lesser-rostered secondary player to maximize your upside.

Josh Allen (BUF): $8,100 vs. KC
Allen will be a popular quarterback option in full-slate lineups ahead of an anticipated shootout at Kansas City. By quarterback standards, that means he’ll probably be in about 20-25 percent of GPP lineups. As the quarterback best suited to break the slate, I’ll take that advantage over 75 percent of the field.

The Bills are a pass-first offense, especially when not playing with a big lead, which is likely this week. In a playoff loss at Arrowhead last season, Allen threw 48 times on his way to modest 287 passing yards and two touchdowns. Expect better numbers through the air in the rematch to go along with his typical rushing potential. I’d be shocked if he’s not this week’s highest-scoring quarterback.
