Now, let’s get into some players whose stocks I’m buying on Sunday, October 24, week seven.

Patrick Mahomes ($7.00, Projected Finish: 22)

*Insert Bernie Sanders meme* I am once again buying shares of Patrick Mahomes in a game with a ridiculously high projected point total. Vegas set the over/under at a whopping 57.5 points, and Kansas City is only a 4.5-point favorite, meaning they anticipate a good old-fashioned shootout. Through six games, the Tennessee Titans are allowing opposing QBs to average more than 290 yards and two touchdowns per game, intercepting only four passes. Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and the Chiefs offensive line starters are all on track to play Sunday, so it’s all systems go for the Mahomes show.

Cordarrelle Patterson ($4.75, 36th) and Mike Davis ($3.00, 52nd)

I’m including both Atlanta running backs because they played significant roles in Atlanta’s win over the New York Jets. Against the Jets two weeks ago in London, Patterson had 14 carries for 54 yards, and Davis had 13 carries for 53 yards and a touchdown. The Dolphins have surrendered the seventh-most yards to opposing running backs (677) and the second-most touchdowns (7). Additionally, they’ve surrendered 274 receiving yards and two touchdowns to opposing running backs. Both Patterson and Davis are talented pass catchers out of the backfield. Davis will likely be a more budget-friendly option, but I’d be OK with shares of either Falcon running back.

Aaron Jones ($5.34, 32nd)

I love this matchup for Aaron Jones. Sure, Washington has held opposing running backs to the tenth-fewest yards in the NFL, but they’re fragile when it comes to defending pass-catching running backs, which Jones definitely can be. Washington has given up six receiving touchdowns to running backs, tied with Detroit (who Jones routed in week two) for most in the NFL. Assuming the Packers take care of business, this game script should be very friendly to Jones, and he’ll see his fair share of carries. Though AJ Dillon has seen an increased workload as the season has moved along, Jones is an incredibly efficient player who can hurt defenses on the ground and through the air.

Dallas Goedert ($2.92, 53rd)

Now activated from the COVID-19/Reserve list, Goedert will have the TE position all to himself, with former teammate Zach Ertz now a member of the Arizona Cardinals. Goedert has always shown flashes as a talented all-purpose TE, but now he’ll be completely taking the reins. The Eagles offense hasn’t given fans much to be excited about this season, but you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t think Goedert is one of their premier pass-catching weapons. The start of Goedert’s Ertz-less career couldn’t start with a better matchup, either. The Las Vegas Raiders have allowed the second-most receptions (41) and fifth-most yards (407) to opposing tight ends.

Darrell Henderson ($4.25, 40th)

The Los Angeles Rams are an absurd 16-point favorite against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. I don’t mean absurd in the sense of, I don’t buy it, I mean absurd in the sense of … yikes. If the Rams do handle the Lions, which by all indications they have a solid chance to, Darrell Henderson is likely to see a ton of work by way of a lucrative game script. Last Sunday, the Lions surrendered 153 all-purpose yards and a receiving touchdown to Bengals RB Joe Mixon. The Rams have made their game plan clear regarding the RB hierarchy: Darrell Henderson is their RB1, Sony Michel is his backup. Henderson played 83% of offensive snaps last week, meaning he’s in line for a big day if the Rams start the game hot and look to hold their lead.
