Week 3 Fantasy Football Bold Predictions

Justin Herbert (QB – LAC) finishes as a top-3 QB

A bounce-back game is in store for Los Angeles Chargers’ second-year gunslinger Justin Herbert. Herbert’s weapons have been excelling in fantasy through the first two games of the season, yet Herbert has struggled to put up elite fantasy numbers so far. This fact changes this week in the AFC West showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs. This game should be must-watch TV and a high-scoring, highly competitive contest, with Herbert having to throw at a high clip to keep the game close. Expect Herbert, along with his three-headed offensive attack of Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen, and Mike Williams, to post exceptional fantasy numbers with a chance to upset their divisional foes.

Marvin Jones Jr. (WR – JAX) is a top-15 WR

Marvin Jones Jr. has been an extremely reliable target for Jacksonville Jaguars’ rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Jones has seen 20 targets through the first two games, scoring back-to-back touchdowns. Despite his solid start, Jones is currently being ranked as the WR34 heading into Week 3. I expect this Week 3 battle with the Arizona Cardinals to be a touchdown-enriched game, with Jones being heavily involved and serving as a target hot once again for Jacksonville. Jones is a high-upside WR3 this week against the Arizona Cardinals.

Hunter Renfrow (WR – LVR) scores 15+ fantasy points

Despite playing 49.5% of offensive snaps, Hunter Renfrow has totaled 16 targets in two games, going over double-digit fantasy points for two weeks in a row. Renfrow will look to continue this streak as the Las Vegas Raiders offense looks to build off their hot start. In deeper leagues, Renfrow could be an interesting flex option with a chance to snag four or more receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown. If playing in a league that rewards fantasy points for first downs, the “Third and Renfrow” namesake could have added value.

Dyami Brown (WR – WAS) scores a touchdown, posting 10 or more fantasy points

Dyami Brown has filled in admirably for Curtis Samuel as Samuel nurses a groin injury that has sidelined him for a significant amount of time. Although the fantasy points haven’t panned out yet, Brown’s usage has been encouraging. Brown has seen 10 targets in two games, playing an average of 90% of the offensive snaps thus far. Brown is a vertical weapon with blazing speed that needs to be utilized as a true deep threat if Washington wants a chance at defeating the Buffalo Bills. Brown could be an interesting dart throw flex option in deeper leagues.

Conclusion

Waiting for your “studs” who are off to slow starts can be frustrating, but the season is young and great football players always find a way to perform at a high level. If a highly drafted player is not producing at the level you had hope for, relying on a player such as those listed in my bold predictions articles could bide your team time until your top performers are back to their usual ways.
