Fantasy Football Power Rankings for All 32 NFL Teams (2021)

Every year, as I begin my prep for the coming season, I start by taking a wide-scale look at the fantasy landscape across the entire NFL.

Which teams do I generally want to buy into this season? Which should I stay away from entirely? Which situations could surprise us in a good way? And which units could disappoint us? These are the questions I ask myself as I go through each roster and start to determine my draft targets.

To do this, I created a scoring system where I graded each NFL team on a scale of 1-to-10 based on five factors: quarterback, running backs, pass catchers, offensive line, and coaching. Below is my full list of power rankings based on that scale, along with individual write-ups for each team.

1. Kansas City Chiefs

Pretty obvious. When the big three of Patrick Mahomes (QB - KC), Tyreek Hill (WR - KC), and Travis Kelce (TE - KC) are healthy, this offense is close to unstoppable. Clyde Edwards-Helaire (RB - KC) is a favorite post-hype sleeper of mine after his lackluster rookie season. And the Chiefs did a lot of work to shore up the offensive line this offseason. I do have questions about Kansas City's skill position depth, however.

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tom Brady (QB - TB) and the Bucs should have another prolific year. The pass-catching trio of Mike Evans (WR - TB), Chris Godwin (WR - TB), and Antonio Brown (WR - TB) could be lethal. The Bucs don't have a standout running back, and Ronald Jones (RB - TB) and Leonard Fournette (RB - TB) will likely combine to make up a productive, but frustrating committee.

3. Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers (QB - GB) and Davante Adams (WR - GB) are back for one more ride. And the duo should put up massive numbers in what might be its final season in Green Bay. The Aaron Jones (RB - GB) and A.J. Dillon (RB - GB) combo is one of the stronger backfield tandems in the league. But this offensive line might've taken a step back after letting center Corey Linsley (C - LAC) walk in free agency.

4. Tennessee Titans

I'm done betting against Derrick Henry (RB - TEN) and Ryan Tannehill (QB - TEN). Now with Julio Jones (WR - TEN), the Titans will be awfully tough to stop. However, there are depth questions behind the core key weapons, and I'm curious to see if Arthur Smith's departure hurts Tannehill at all.

5. Cleveland Browns

The Browns? The Browns? Yes, the Browns. Cleveland has arguably the best backfield tandem in the league. Coach Kevin Stefanski helped unlock some of Baker Mayfield's (QB - CLE) potential, and I think he could take another step forward in 2021. The question will be whether Odell Beckham Jr. (WR - CLE), can stay healthy and bounce back. If he returns to form, the Browns will be a handful. If not, Cleveland could be very reliant on the running game once again. Cleveland also gains a huge boost from its offensive line, which is arguably the best unit in the league.

6. Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson (QB - BAL) is an incredible athlete, but I need to see him take a step forward as a passer this year. It'll help if he can get some help from his receivers. Maybe the addition of Rashod Bateman (WR - BAL) does the trick, but this receiving corps still leaves me wanting more. I'm a huge fan of J.K. Dobbins (RB - BAL), however.

7. Los Angeles Rams

The Rams upgraded from Jared Goff (QB - DET) to Matthew Stafford (QB - LAR) at quarterback. He'll have a great supporting cast to work with, particularly with Robert Woods (WR - LAR) and Cooper Kupp (WR - LAR). However, running back is a concern after Cam Akers (RB - LAR) tore his Achilles. Sean McVay will find a way.

8. Buffalo Bills

I can't wait to see what Josh Allen (QB - BUF) has in store for an encore. I think he could be in store for an MVP season. Stefon Diggs (WR - BUF) is a beast, but beyond him the Bills have questions at receiver. What does Emmanuel Sanders (WR - BUF) have left? Can Gabriel Davis (WR - BUF) take a step forward? Buffalo also needs to get more out of its running game. I'm curious to see if either Zack Moss (RB - BUF) or Devin Singletary (RB - BUF) emerge.

9. Dallas Cowboys

Presuming Dak Prescott (QB - DAL) is healthy, this unit should be elite. The pass-catching trio of Amari Cooper (WR - DAL), CeeDee Lamb (WR - DAL), and Michael Gallup (WR - DAL) will give opposing secondaries fits. I still believe in Ezekiel Elliott (RB - DAL), and think his disappointing finish in 2020 was more a result of everything crumbling around him. But if Elliott has fallen off a cliff, then Tony Pollard (RB - DAL) is plenty capable.

10. Seattle Seahawks

Russell Wilson (QB - SEA) is amazing. He has DK Metcalf (WR - SEA) and Tyler Lockett (WR - SEA) to throw to. And Chris Carson (RB - SEA) is a respectable runner who probably won't play a full season. But can new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron help this unit reach new heights?

11. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers offer a ton of intrigue. Will raw but talented rookie Trey Lance (QB - SF) see the field at all in 2021? How does San Francisco's backfield timeshare play out? Can Brandon Aiyuk (WR - SF) emerge as a WR1 in his second season? The sky is the limit for this unit, but there are questions.

12. New Orleans Saints

The Saints get a big boost from very good coaching, a strong offensive line, and Alvin Kamara (RB - NO). But the absence of Michael Thomas (WR - NO) won't make things any easier for an offense replacing Hall of Fame QB Drew Brees. The receiving depth chart is incredibly thin behind Thomas. Jameis Winston (QB - NO) is a true wild card, but the offense has more explosive upside with him under center than Taysom Hill (QB - NO).

13. Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings have elite talent at the skill positions in Dalvin Cook (RB - MIN), Justin Jefferson (WR - MIN), and Adam Thielen (WR - MIN). I have reservations regarding this unit's upside with Kirk Cousins (QB - MIN) at the helm. But Minnesota should be a productive offense for fantasy players.

14. Los Angeles Chargers

This Chargers offense has tons of upward mobility. Justin Herbert (QB - LAC) might be only scratching the surface. Austin Ekeler (RB - LAC) is a solid three-down back and exceptional pass catcher out of the backfield. Keenan Allen (WR - LAC) is a stud, and Mike Williams (WR - LAC) shouldn't be forgotten about either. Depth is this unit's biggest concern.

15. Arizona Cardinals

Another unit with tons of upside that I just need to see more from. Kyler Murray (QB - AZ) was sensational before hurting his shoulder last year. DeAndre Hopkins (WR - AZ) is an elite receiver. But the backfield tandem of Chase Edmonds (RB - AZ) and James Conner (RB - AZ) leaves me wanting more. The talent is there, but is Kliff Kingsbury the right guy to extract the most out of it?

16. Indianapolis Colts

With Carson Wentz (QB - IND) now sidelined after undergoing foot surgery, the Colts offense is a big unknown. Jonathan Taylor (RB - IND) could be poised for a breakout year, as could Michael Pittman Jr. (WR - IND). But it all comes down to who's under center, and whether they're any good.

17. Atlanta Falcons

I liked this offense a lot more when Julio Jones was still there. Calvin Ridley (WR - ATL) is awesome. But I'm curious to see how he handles being the guy. Tight end Kyle Pitts (TE - ATL) might be a transcendent prospect, but I'm wary of overdrafting rookie tight ends given the difficult transition. Mike Davis (RB - ATL) appears to have a clear path to the starting job, but I'm wondering if this situation is too good to be true. New head coach Arthur Smith has enough pieces to keep this unit respectable.

18. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are a polarizing team. The skill players are there. What it all comes down to is Ben Roethlisberger (QB - PIT) and the offensive line. After being a steady unit for years, Pittsburgh's offensive line collapsed last season. It needs to be better if Najee Harris (RB - PIT) is to have any hope of living up to his high expectations. I'm intrigued by all of Pittsburgh's receivers and suggest taking the last one available in your drafts.

19. Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals have a ton of talent, on paper. But man, that offensive line didn't get much better. Joe Burrow (QB - CIN) could be really good if he's protected. I've always loved Joe Mixon's (RB - CIN) talent and am taking the plunge one more time on him. And the pass catching trio of Ja'Marr Chase (WR - CIN), Tee Higgins (WR - CIN), and Tyler Boyd (WR - CIN) could be sensational. But I worry fantasy managers are giving the Bengals too much credit too early.

20. Washington Football Team

I find it odd how so many people expect Ryan Fitzpatrick (QB - WFT) to turn Washington's offense into an elite unit for fantasy. Yes, Fitzpatrick takes chances. But his act normally fizzles out after his third or fourth multi-interception game. I love Antonio Gibson (RB - WFT) and Terry McLaurin (WR - WFT). And I became a fan of Logan Thomas (TE - WFT) last season. Curtis Samuel (WR - WFT) feels more like a gadget player to me, but he provides a good wrinkle. This unit could be pretty good, but let's not overrate Fitzpatrick's value.

21. Carolina Panthers

I like a lot of what Carolina's got going. Christian McCaffrey (RB - CAR) obviously needs to stay healthy, and I hope for his health's sake the Panthers use him a little less going forward. I like D.J. Moore (WR - CAR) a lot. Robby Anderson (WR - CAR) isn't a slouch. But the offensive line could be really bad. And bad offensive line play is part of the reason Sam Darnold (QB - CAR) was traded by the Jets to Carolina. I believe in Joe Brady, but he may need to work a miracle on Darnold.

22. New England Patriots

The Patriots have a steady offensive line and a good offensive coordinator in Josh McDaniels. But the unit is uninspiring to say the least. I'm not interested in any of the running backs. Hunter Henry (TE - NE) is already hurt, throwing a wrench into New England's plans of utilizing him and Jonnu Smith (TE - NE) in 12 personnel sets. And the receiver group is... lacking. Mac Jones (QB - NE) is worth a flyer in dynasty leagues, but this isn't an offense I plan on investing in.

23. Jacksonville Jaguars

Honestly, this feels a little low for Jacksonville. Trevor Lawrence (WR - JAC) could be the franchise's savior. The team's equipped him with some good receiving weapons in D.J. Chark (WR - JAC), Laviska Shenault (WR - JAC), and Marvin Jones Jr. (WR - JAC). The backfield will likely be a timeshare featuring James Robinson (RB - JAC) and Travis Etienne (RB - JAC), which is no fun for fantasy managers. However, I'm unsure about Urban Meyer and have concerns about the offensive line.

24. Denver Broncos

Denver's another team with exciting weapons but big questions at quarterback. I've always liked Courtland Sutton (WR - DEN) and while I wasn't a huge fan of Jerry Jeudy (WR - DEN) coming out, I'm not declaring his career over after one season. I still believe Noah Fant (TE - DEN) has a breakout in him. But will the Broncos go with the risk-taking gunslinger, Drew Lock (QB - DEN), or the conservative game manager, Teddy Bridgewater (QB - DEN)? I suspect it'll be Bridgewater, and that caps this offense's upside.

25. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles will be a boom or bust offense in 2021. I have doubts about Jalen Hurts' (QB - PHI) ability as a passer. Miles Sanders (RB - PHI) is athletic but runs with no vision. I love DeVonta Smith (WR - PHI) and Dallas Goedert (TE - PHI), but think the Eagles made a mistake with Jalen Reagor (WR - PHI). Throw in a new coach, and this unit will be tough to trust for fantasy. If Deshaun Watson (QB - HOU) is somehow traded to Philly, my perspective will change drastically.

26. Miami Dolphins

One of the most overblown storylines of the NFL offseason was whether the Dolphins were already done with Tua Tagovailoa (QB - MIA). His rookie season wasn't actually as bad as many think. But Brian Flores mismanaged the situation from the start and added to the drama. I believe in Tua, but that's about it. Myles Gaskin (RB - MIA) is just a guy. DeVante Parker (WR - MIA) is nothing special. Will Fuller V (WR - MIA) seems bound to get hurt every year. Mike Gesicki's (TE - MIA) is just fine. Maybe Jaylen Waddle (WR - MIA) is special. But even so, I have questions about the supporting cast.

27. Chicago Bears

This rank came down to the assumption that Andy Dalton (QB - CHI) will start the season under center, not rookie Justin Fields (QB - CHI). Dalton proved in Dallas last year that he's not a capable NFL starter anymore. Hopefully, Fields forces Chicago's hand with a great preseason. However, I'm not sure Fields is entering a great situation. Having Allen Robinson (WR - CHI) is great, as he's a stud. But beyond Robinson and Darnell Mooney (WR - CHI), there isn't much to love in the pass catching department. David Montgomery (RB - CHI) is fine but is being overvalued because of a strong finish to 2020 against pitiful defenses. The offensive line also isn't great, and I have a feeling Matt Nagy will be coaching his final season in The Windy City.

28. Detroit Lions

Much is being made about how awful the Lions will be this year. And yes, going from Stafford to Goff is a downgrade. And yes, I think I could be a depth receiver for this team. However, the Lions actually have a strong offensive line and a potentially dynamic tailback in D'Andre Swift (RB - DET). I also really like T.J. Hockenson (TE - DET). I'm not saying the Lions will be a juggernaut, but they could put some points on the board in good matchups.

29. New York Giants

I'm really low on the Giants for a variety of reasons. Let's start with Daniel Jones (QB - NYG), who is way too erratic and turnover prone. The offensive line could be the worst in the league, which will only bring out the worst in Jones. Saquon Barkley (RB - NYG) is amazing, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't factor his health into my assessment. And new receiver Kenny Golladay (WR - NYG) is already dealing with an injury. I may be way too low on the Giants, but there are plenty of reasons for doubt.

30. Las Vegas Raiders

I don't know what this team's doing anymore. They tore down an offensive line that was actually quite respectable. What's left could be an atrocious blocking unit. Derek Carr (QB - LV) is average. He'll feed Darren Waller (LV), who will be awesome yet again. And I think Josh Jacobs (RB - LV) will be a great buy-low because of the perceived impact Kenyan Drake (RB - LV) will make. Newsflash, Drake kind of stinks, and Jacobs wasn't really used as a three-down back anyways. But overall, this unit could really stink.

31. New York Jets

The Jets have new hope in the form of rookie quarterback Zach Wilson (QB - NYJ) and their new coaching staff. But a rebuilt offensive line will take time to gel. The team doesn't really have a No. 1 wide receiver among Corey Davis (WR - NYJ), Jamison Crowder (WR - NYJ), Keelan Cole (WR - NYJ), Denzel Mims (WR - NYJ), and rookie Elijah Moore (WR - NYJ). Tevin Coleman (RB - NYJ) will likely be the team's starter, which says plenty. Of course, if Wilson delivers on his promise, this unit will finish much higher.

32. Houston Texans

Woof. I'm assuming Watson is either traded or suspended. And this unit is hot garbage outside of him. Can I interest you in a running back timeshare featuring David Johnson (RB - HOU), Phillip Lindsay (RB - HOU), Mark Ingram (RB - HOU), and Rex Burkhead (RB - HOU)? Brandin Cooks (WR - HOU) is the only player worth having in redraft leagues, but only as a WR4.
