Week 8 of the NBA season is here already, and if you’re looking to make a deal, I’m here to help. Every other week, I’ll be sharing a trade value chart for categories leagues and a trade value chart for points leagues.
The methodology for the grades is simple. For categories leagues, each player is assigned a value from 1-10 for each category. Those category values are totaled for the Trade Value.
For points leagues, projections for points, assists, rebounds, steals, blocks, and turnovers are calculated based on points-league scoring to form a total which becomes the Trade Value. Projections start with FantasyPros consensus projections and are then tweaked based on personal projections.
For simplicity, projections and Trade Values have been rounded to the nearest whole number.
Trade Values are handy because they provide a simple numerical calculation that can help you decide if a trade is fair. To gauge fair value for a multi-player trade, simply add the value of the players being traded and compare to the combined value of the players being acquired.
Now that we’ve got another two weeks of play to analyze, there are some notable movers in both directions and some new names on the chart. In addition to the Trade Values, I’ll name two players to acquire and two players to trade away for categories and points leagues.
Thanks for reading, and best of luck in all of your leagues this season. Let’s get to it!
