Fantasy basketball managers may be wondering what to do with LaMelo Ball. The rookie has played well all season, but he recently got an opportunity to move into the starting five. Ball has seized the opportunity. Over his last five games, the 6’6 guard is averaging 22.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.0 steal. He is tenth on the FantasyPros Player Rater over the last 15 days.
Now is the time to sell. If another manager views him as a top 30 player for the rest of the season, make a move. Ball is playing well, but there is no guarantee he keeps this up. His percentages are a worry, and he is no stranger to missing time with injury.

Buy
Here are three players to acquire during Week 8.
Kristaps Porzingis (DAL – PF/C)
KP missed the first nine games of the season recovering from offseason meniscus surgery. It took him some time to get back on track, but he is starting to return to form. Porzingis was producing All-Star numbers before injuring his knee inside the bubble. Do not be surprised to see him averaging over 22 points, ten rebounds, and two blocks per game in short order.
KP sits 139rd in the Player Rater, which is well below his consensus ADP of 46. Now is the perfect time to buy. Porzingis is coming off arguably his best game, and his owner may be looking to sell for any top 50 player. KP should be a top 30 talent going forward, though. Try to acquire him at a discount.
Devin Booker (PHO – PG/SG)
Booker has missed some time and gotten off to a slow start. Some may be thinking his assists and scoring will be down with Chris Paul in Phoenix. He sits 67th on the Player Rater, well below his ADP of 13. Is his manager panicking? Would he be willing to sell for any top 30 player?
If so, now is the time to strike. Booker is 24 years old and starting to hit his stride. Expect him to finish inside the top 25 and be a top 15 player moving forward.
Clint Capela (ATL – C)
Capela is producing the best numbers of his career. He leads the league in rebounds per game at 14.6. He adds in 13.7 points, 2.4 blocks, and 0.8 steals to put him 52nd on the Player Rater for the season.
Capela is a buy high candidate. He had an ADP of 60 but should finish inside the top 40 moving forward. His manager may be looking to sell after getting what he views as his best production of the season. Take advantage and offer someone just outside the top 50 for Capela and reap the rewards moving forward.

Sell
Here are two players to move off of during Week 8.
Fred VanVleet (TOR – PG/SG)
VanVleet has been outstanding this season. He is averaging over 20 points and six assists per game while producing career-highs in rebounds, blocks, and 3-pointers made. VanVleet is 18th on the Player Rater for the season.
Now is the time to sell at his peak. VanVleet is unlikely to keep up the block production and drags down your field goal percentage. Try to acquire a top talent in return, but accept any top 30 player in the deal.
Julius Randle (NYK – PF/C)
Randle sits 15 on the Player Rater after becoming the Knicks’ point forward under new coach Tom Thibodeau. His numbers are outstanding but not built to last. First, he is shooting 39.8 percent from 3-point range this season. Randle is a career 31.1 percent shooting that figures to see some regression hit.
The assists are the biggest worry. The Knicks lacked a point guard but just traded for Derrick Rose. This has a close relationship with Rose dating back to their days in Chicago when the point guard won MVP. Expect him to get plenty of minutes and ball-handling opportunities in New York, which will eat into Randle’s production.
Look to move Randle for any top 40 player right now because the production is about to take a hit.
